Was discussed in the Ultimate dead people thread. Yeah, on of the legends. His greatest challenge was to live in the shadow of his brother.

Are there plans to resume the NHL season?

My oldest was supposed to have Spring League in April and May. My next oldest was supposed to have some cross-ice games during that same period. It's all been cancelled. I've been doing some online coaching modules from USA Hockey for 10 and under in preparation for next season. Looks like my 10 year old is on the verge of needing new skates again.

The NHL has not yet cancelled the unplayed games. They still claim they want to finish the season and then have the playoffs into August.

I suspect we will see an abbreviated playoff, maybe the top four from each conference, but there are lot of non-traditional options that could be very exciting.

I’m at home under isolation so caught a replay of game 6 if Norris finals blues/leafs. Also saw ‘91 nordiques vs bruins with Tugnutts 73 save game. The game’s quite different then vs now but still fun to watch.

I thought I was past the detox stage of missing hockey but I took another toke and I'm back in deep. Here's an interesting "meeting of the minds" and IMO a reason to love the Bruins

I dug out the roller blades for a 'run' this afternoon. I can almost hear some of the neighbours
saying "Check out the geezer & let's wait for him to fall on his a$$"

Cheers
JB

We have a sheet of synthetic ice, my son and I have spent hours and hours shooting pucks during this lock down. I am 55 years old and have been playing since I was 10. For the first time in years my shot is probably better now then it was 6 weeks ago. For a guy whose skills have been in decline for the last 10 years that's at least one good thing to come out of this situation. Now if I could just recapture the speed I had on the ice 10 years ago I'd be really happy.

You'd also be a millionaire because a lot of aging NHL players would want to know how you did it.

Por_sha911 05-15-2020 06:32 PM

Watches Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story last night. Not a great movie but a cool reminder of the good ole bad old days of hockey and something to do to keep from having NHL withdrawal.
Mr. Hockey - The Gordie Howe Story
I'm looking for the Rocket: The legend of Rocket Richard movie. It looks cool. Maybe time to watch Slapshot and Happy Gilmore again.
