That chart is rather unfair. The airplane is far more useful of a tool of the modern age than it makes it look like. It has always been expensive to fly. I preume Pornhub is free, just a guess. Free access and something anyone in the free world can go to, yea, that is gonna have a lot of users.

The version of history I read is that VHS was cheaper than the superior Betamax, and that lead to adoption by the porn industry and it's many consumers - this was a tipping point, and VHS won the format war.

Follow the money.

Space tourism is supposed to revolve around couples doing it in space.

It's one of those things that defines what it is to be human, the human experience.

The private pods with views of Earth but not of other pods is central to the proposed space station architecture.

Pods are sealed so they can be auto-cleaned.

Nobody wants that job.

In 19 and 63, the US gubmint was working a souper-secret parallel path with NASA.
Going to the moon was all rainbows and stuff, but the real challenge was building an orbiting spy station that could take pretty pictures of the roo-skees.
They called it the MANNED ORBITING LABORATORY. it was the real reason for the Gemini project.
Spent lots of money on it, lots and lots. but it never got off the ground.
This unmanned spy shuttle is just the evolution of the MOL, good to see all that $$$$$ finally evolved into something that works.
