“The evolution of the truck is here,” LEGO Australia’s Facebook page joked online recently. “Guaranteed shatterproof.”

Make of this what you will, I have not verified anything just passing it on.
November 28, 2019 Tesla's Cybertruck Aerodynamics Do Flow Smoothly, as per a CFD Analysis An aerospace engineer couldn't wait to find out, so he tested the truck's aerodynamics for himself. https://interestingengineering.com/teslas-cybertruck-aerodynamics-do-flow-smoothly-as-per-a-cfd-analysis https://inteng-storage.s3.amazonaws...._resize_md.jpg https://inteng-storage.s3.amazonaws...._resize_md.jpg https://inteng-storage.s3.amazonaws...._resize_md.png https://inteng-storage.s3.amazonaws...._resize_md.png Quote:

oh well, this guy pulled a 297 ton train with his teeth. It's not exactly as if trains have much rolling resistance... they are on rails for a reason. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1575106164.jpg Original Strong man to do that was a Belgian, John Massis, at 1m50 pulls the train <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UEJc-VlH1Ww" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Who cares about aero drag when the sell is F150 drag?
For refnc the cayenne S has a Cd of .35 and a top speed of 164mph and a 0-60 time at a 'slow' 4.6 sec. (refnc:https://www.motortrend.com/cars/porsche/cayenne/2019/2019-porsche-cayenne-first-look-review/) Off road? Cayenne rocks. I can't imagine that long wheel-base behemoth (T-Truck) doing anything but getting high centered . ...on the battery pack. |
Arguing Cd on a pickup is pathetic. The question really is payload capacity and towing capacity and mileage/range when loaded. We all know that "refueling" will take a while.
But I expect, most "work" pickups, the range is not an issue. However, one potential problem, rural electric prices are usually much higher than the difference in gasoline prices. I just think Tesla doesn't understand the market. And I don't think that the design (all square edges) is going to sell. |
So I helped VW out and bought one of their reclaimed TDI Passats. Great Deal, great car. Now VW has officially resigned from any motorsport under the VW brand except for electric. We are looking for a second car, which another TDI was a leading candidate. Also, my F150 is at 180k and running strong, but would like a new one. Why would I buy any combustion engine in CA or from manufacturers who are currently being PC and crapping on their bread and butter? Electric won't cut it for me, the E golf only has a real world range of less than 75 miles. I commute a minimum of 100 miles a day, sometimes needing a truck . Cant plug in at work due to different locations. This stuff really doesn't make sense when you add in the fact California is at 50 percent gas fired plants and the solar farms in the desert require relocation of the native wildlife and the wind farms kill thousands of birds. We just pat ourselves on our backs in the Starbucks of CA>

It's for those who want the F-YOU, GTFO of my way, I'm too Avant-garde modern for you persona. --not the I drag my gear out to the woods and drag back fresh kill persona. IOW, it's for people who want a suburban assault vehicle AND show their love for a good con. |
the market for pickups includes very few "work" pickups (but many more need to look like they do work...)
we'll see what Ford/Rivian comes up with (maybe the stators will be Ford Tough?) |
