Jams at work right now.
followed immediately by ***I know these aren't metal. But if I have to suffer, so do you lot. I'll be playing this when I get TF out of here. (I saw these dudes live in NYC two weekends ago and it was worth the 30 year wait.)

Fixation on Co-Worker is such a good album. I have been going back to it regularly for decades now.

Imagine the Ramones had a female lead singer.

Reminded me of Brody Dalle singing for Stone Temple Pilots.

Dead Kennedys, Jane's Addiction, Violent Fems, Surf Punks, a few more I can't think of right now.

#1 He is still alive when so many from that era are not. #2 Panic was the first punk band I saw at Redondo Beach that a shaved head Henry was in. As Black Flag I saw them live at Gazzaris and later at Devonshire Downs on September 11, 1981. The line up was :Black Flag, The Stains, Fear, Caustic Cause and Youth Gone Mad. He wore Vans slip ons. #3 I still have the 45 of Louie Louie Henry handed to me at a later date. #4 I was back at CSUN Downs in 1983 and Henry was front and center playing. My neighbors on Longridge Ave at the time gave me an invite. They called themselves the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They moved when one of the band members decided a living room is a good place for target practice. Nothing a little toothpaste would not fill a 38 caliber hole with. From 1981 through end of 1983 the Battle Of The Bands were on and regularly in the Punk scene. More and more new music entered the scene with rock hair bands and new wave. Devonshire Downs is now part of the CSUN property. A lot has changed. Henry was living close to another friend of mine in Nichols Canyon. I think the home was for sale during the great plague. I have run into him a few times in passing and he has aged well. As fas as music he has really backed away and pursued other outlets for his talents.

Saturday night was the Anthrax show, this was the 5th time I've seen them
Opening was Exodus, Gary Holt still rips it up, recently saw him on the Slayer final tour... And some freaking worthless biker dirgy glam rock crap from Black Label Society. Oh, Zakk Wylde, so sexy, I'm swooning, what a cool guy, making both first and last names weird!

The Onion for punk and metal. Don't spend much time there, just like the Onion it becomes pretty boring after 2 or 3 articles...

I'm going to call 2022-2023 "The Year that Bankrupted Gen X".
Everyone who's anyone knows that Alternative music basically has two birthdays. First, was 1981-1983, and the second was 1991-1993. Basically everyone who was anyone started in one of those two periods. Well, we're celebrating the 30th and 40th anniversaries of those musical nodes. Between this week and June, we have 40th anniversary tours for New Order, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Skinny Puppy. 30th anniversary tours for My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and the Pixies. In the last 6 months it included 40th anniversary shows for Fear, Circle Jerks, Anthrax. We SHOULD have had a 40th tour for Slayer, but they literally lived 40 years in 37 years, and had to hang it up. Coming up is Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode. Bauhaus tried to have a tour, but Peter Murphy checked himself into rehab, so now Love and Rockets is going to tour! Freaking Siouxie is going to tour again. Might as well bring back Concrete Blonde while we're at it! How is a Gen Xer going to pay for all of this???

Two new singles from Burning Witches. Their previous album was disc of the year for me, a couple years ago, so I have high expectations for this one which will be released in May.

New from Nervosa - awesomeness.
New from Ad Infinitum - one of my favorite singers ever, Melissia Bonny, sounding and looking good as always. Last edited by Rawknees'Turbo; 04-06-2023 at 08:43 PM.. |

I've never been a Cradle of Filth fan, but this new song is pretty good.
