Bosch for 10 years. No problems and run daily. It was our most reliable appliance with heaviest use. We just remodeled a kitchen in our new home and I didn’t even think twice and am very happy. BTW- the third rack up top has been great. At first I was a little doubtful but works well for us.

6 months ago our LG went out and my wife spent weeks researching and and got a Series 800 Bosch with steam and we are still married.

Is it the control panel or the control module?
We had a great kitchenaid dishwasher. It started acting weird, and eventually stopped working reliably. I found a part online, I think it was somewhere between $75 and $125. It took about 30 mins to install (it was in the door). It worked perfectly after that. If it's a great dishwasher, maybe you can just fix it rather than trash it. |
We don't have a built-in dishwasher, ours is a portable roll around Maytag. Yeah, wife hates it because it's noisy, I just remind her it's easier than her washing the dishes by hand. It's been around for close to 20 years I'd imagine, it replaced a previous Maytag roll around. I'll be sorry the day it goes out as I've looked at replacements and there aren't any out there now. By the way, my brother has had two Bosch models in the time we've had this one Maytag. Another thing I like about it is that it fits our Corelle dishes very nicely. Only time it doesn't dry them completely is when something up on the top rack gets turned so it holds water, like a measuring cup or something like that. We always rinse the dishes off well since we're empty nesters and don't run it for a week at a time sometimes. I don't mind the noise as it means I'm not washing the dishes by hand.

Did a bit of searching and found this place has some great real word statistics on appliances:
https://blog.yaleappliance.com/most-reliable-dishwashers The gist from them is that the most reliable isn't always the best dishwasher for your needs. |
Installed a Miele G6105scu a couple of years ago and so far it works great, the real test though is after about ten years, was looking for something that would be long lasting and quiet. I'm good at repairs but would rather not.
|
Maybe not the norm..but the Kenmore Ultra Wash, that I installed, is still working great after 25 years. Never any problem with it.
|
Bosch. We love ours. It’s so quiet people think it’s not running when standing right by it.
|
Bosch......can't remember how long it has been in service. I'd guess 12 or more years.
The pump quit working once but i found a piece of broken glass wedged in the impeller so no parts were required. |

Is it the kind that doesn't have a heating element for drying? Looked at several Bosch models today (and others) and it seems none have this now. |
European DW don't have drying or heat element for drying. Dishes comes out clean but some water will pool up in some items that will not dry. Normally, its very little water.
If I were to buy today, this is my order if money isn't a concern: Miele Bosch. I have it (Gaggeneau but the gust is Bosch)in my own house as well as my mother, and sister's home. Big fan, best bang for the buck. Kitchen Aid or ASKO. If not within my budget, wash by hand. I am told Sam Sung is OK, but don't have enough data to give advice on it. Everything else is kinda junky and don't seem to last. Always get one with SS inside. Never the plastic. All Bosch, even the cheapest are SS inside. |
Love the Miele when it works.
Almost silent. It’s had 3 call outs in 12 years though... |
Just in case the response was lost in the din the first time around - fix your old one.
|
As others have mentioned, Asko. We put one in when we remodeled about a year ago. SUPER quiet and works great.

If it isn't already clear yet, buy whatever the wife wants.
Bosch it is. |
