I love this "talk"
and city people hardly walk this "talk" OK, they do other things. and I've done the Caribbean many a bunch of times, Europe a couple of times, a bunch of Mediterrian islands.. nice hotels and tablecloths for dinner one and all. and I've probably done every major Nat'l Forest, Nat'l Park, etc.. and FL Wright' school in Arizona and Falling Water in Penn's rock country. so I already have notes on that. that all Arizona thread awhile back was good to me. So, IMHO, a great "walk" for a newbe is to do the 4 states of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. You can have 2 weeks of something new, different, and somewhat exciting every day as long as you stay away from city hotels.

Thank you for all the suggestions. That was very helpful and i'll pull-up more of the sites later today.
BlueSky....What are the "vortices"?? They don't pull you in to the center of earth do they?? We might do one of those 4 x 4 jeep tours...if we go to one...i'll make sure to stay clear from the edge.

What?

I took my family to Sedona and the Grand Canyon last year and we loved the trip. We will be going back when the kids get old enought to hike the canyon. In Sedona we stayed at the Hilton Sedona Resort. Take a Jeep tour of Sedona if you get the chance.

"Energy centers"...cool!
![]() My friend just emailed me and we are booked for the Hilton Resort & Spa also. We are both bummed we do not get to be at the beach for our trip...but Sedona should be a very fun alternative with lots to do. Has anyone done a rafting tour? I was thinking of doing that down the Colorado river...but i'm not sure if we'll get to it.

Until our Sedona/Grand Canyon trip last year, we had always gone to the beach for vacation. I must admit, I had reservations about going to Sedona because that meant, no beach. But, much to my suprise, we all loved it. The Grand Canyon is just a couple hours north and you can easily spend a couple days there. We stayed at the Best Western, don't stay there. There is a new hotel called The Grand Hotel, it looks nice. There is rafting at the canyon. http://grandcanyonaz.gcc.myareaguide.com/rafting.html and at Sedona http://www.sedonaworldtours.com/sedonaballooningtrainrafting.htm When in Sedona, eat breakfast at the Coffee Pot. http://www.sed-biz.com/coffeepotrestaurant/ It's a local hangout with great food. And watch a sunset from the ariport, that is a must.

The only hiking I like to do is from the Reclining Chair in front of the TV to the bathroom, then past the refergrator to grab something cold on my way back to the chair...Now thats a real hike! My favorite program BTW are National Geographic Wilderness specials...I say why leave home when you can see it on TV!

trj...thanks again for your suggestions. We found the Coffee Pot & went there one day for breakfast (excellent eggs benedict and bloody mary's), we also went to the airport over look during the day and for the sunset. There were a lot of people there for the sunset...I was kind of surprised how packed it was. We also did a lot of site seeing on our own and did a cliff jeep tour that was a blast. Here are a few pics.
