How so? Not that it’s a problem for me, we wipe our boat down and clean the seats after each outing. 9 years of ownership over three boats we never had a seat even begin to get cracking from the sun. Granted we keep them under cover and in either a shaded or indoor storage unit, which helps a lot.

That's my point. You need to keep applying it and it works great.
Stop and the residue turns white. This has been my experience on my snowmobile and car.

Weird. I’ve used it on my car and then used another product later with no adverse effects but I’ve never applied it and just left it. Though to be fair, most of those products don’t really last or protect for all that long.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have the side door or dive door. I had looked at one earlier that had that feature and it was definatly a plus, and it had a pair of 300s on the back. But it was in rough shape and I didn’t want a project.

It does have a bow thruster thou, that’s kind of neat.

Is the door in the bow opening into a head?

It's good that you found your boat before building the hoist. They should be able to make a good fit for it.
Can you build a roof over the boat hoist?

Cheers Richard
Yes, there is a head in the front. That was the only requirement that the wife had. Supposedly it will sleep two up there, but it’s pretty small, most likely just a place to store stuff or get out of the rain if your on the beach.

For some reason it’s against the rules here to have a roof built over the lift.

If the pre purchase inspection checks out on Friday, I’ll be buying this boat. Saturday I plan on meeting the owner with funds and he can sign over the title.

Then the fun starts, I’m bringing the boat from the Atlantic side to the Gulf via the Okeechobee waterway, the ditch. I’m renting a car one way and a friend has volunteered to go along. The plan is to hopefully leave West Palm by noon and head north to Stuart and get on the waterway. Since we will be getting a late start our goal is to make it half way and spend the night, then make it home Sunday.

So we are taking a boat that we know little about on a approximately 200 mile trip. It will probably cost me $850-$1000 with fuel, Marina, hotel, rental car, and who knows what else, vs $500 to have it towed over.

But what fun is that.

You forget to mention the $ for beer/cocktails when you stop for the night. Sounds like an awesome trip.

Your trip does sound like fun.
Pack up a bag of tools, spare fuel filters, extra fuel supply hose etc. and have a good time.

I heard from another trip on that route where they were driving thru orange groves and surrounded with the smell of orange blossoms for hours.

Cheers Richard

I think you missed the boat (snicker)
An 18 foot flat bottom with 1000 hp blown big block would be a whole lot more practical

I had a 27’ sailboat around 15 years ago. So no, how hard can it be, steering wheel for left right, throttles for forward and reverse.

I’ll be bringing bumpers. And I’ve got Waze on my phone for navigation.

I’ll be sure and let everyone know how the trip goes.

Good news is I’m closing on the boat tommorow. Bad news is I’m not bringing it back thru Okeechobee. The mechanic said one of the oil pumps is leaking and oil is also leaking at the engine trim.

He said not a big deal, compressions were good and no corrosion, but the oil pump needs replaced and he didn’t have the part handy, it would be Wednesday before he could get to it. The marina charges $160 a day for the boat to sit there, so I have a transport scheduled to pick it up on Monday.

Probably for the best, give me a little time to get to know the boat and go through everything. And a trip down to the keys is closer and would also be fun.
