I actually described this dream a long time ago on another thread about dreams. It was a recurring dream as a young kid. It started out with a green, neon ribbon twisting and undulating in a black background of space. Then a small, kind of toy car would appear traveling along the ribbon. I'd float along following the car until it came to a gas station with a rocky hillside behind it. I'd climb up the rocky slope, and when I reached the top, big cylinders with sheep feet (the kind pulled by dozers fo0r compacting earth) would come hurtling out of black space at me. A couple of times I'd wake up calling my mother. I always wondered about that dream.

My recurrent dream varied around the general theme of being chased by something, usually some kind of unseen monster.

The monster was always full speed and I was always in slo-mo.

My dreams always revolved around being a popstar with fans screaming for an autograph, trying to grab me..

then I wake up.. and turns out it's the cats who are hungry and b1tching for fud,
and pawing my face to get me to wake up

Okay the other.
My grandfather had a farm with a long driveway from the house to the barns. In the woods he had the remains of an old stone chimney or stove. Probably like 4 feet high. This was all real. Now, I would always be stuck upside down in the chimney able to look out the front, through the woods to the road. To make matters worse, there was always a large black widow spider looming around my head. I could see my mother on the road and I would scream for her. Of course she could never hear me and just keep walking. I also had this one pre 9.

The even stranger thing was with both dreams, I could see myself sitting up in my room and looking at a wall that these dreams were then projected onto like a drive in theater.

I am guessing these dreams had to do with not much parent interaction when I was a kid. I was just kind of there. 3 square a day so not too bad. Interesting stuff.

My wife tells me I often start giggling like a little boy while dreaming. I have awakened many times while laughing from a funny dream. One of my favorites was I could communicate with animals and let them know I was there to help them. I would go scratch the ears of a wild moma bear with cubs and pull a large thorn from her foot. I could go to the zoo and tell the zoo keepers that an animal had a pain in a knee or a bad tooth. That was cool.

I am often flying around like superman and having a blast. I don't remember many dreams.

Oh, I think I know this one. You did not just get an eye transplant did you? Turns out the donor was a psycho killer. Sorry, does not end well.

The black space represents your subconscious where ideas, fear and creativity manifest. The green ribbon is the link you created between the dark subconscious and the the pseudo-conscious awareness of the dream state. From an early age you were fascinated and captivated by cars and since the ribbon was linear, it was a logical place for the car to drive. Floating or flying is very common and represents a fun type of escape from problems or worries. The hillside represents attainment or achievement of some sort. But what goes up must come down. Even as an imaginative kid, there must have been consequences for having too much, or from the adults in your life, inappropriate kind, of fun. The big cylinder represents power which can be scary which came after you because you went too far. So even though you wanted to have an imaginative fun life, there were strong forces keeping you from them. Or not.

They absolutely had to do with parental interaction. You were afraid that your mother would not always be there for you when in physical or mental peril.

Even a jail can serve three squares a day, but it doesn’t mean you are living the dream, so to speak.

My mom frequently dreamt of flying around horizontally at elevation 6’ and swooping down to pick up an unlimited number of silver dollars off the ground.

I woke up in a cubby hole under the staircase of a strange house. But that wasn’t a dream so nevermind.

I always read that dreaming only takes place during REM sleep, which usually occurs about an hour or more after first falling asleep. Sometimes, after awakening in the morning, I'll fall back asleep and immediately slip into a dream. It could be a continuation of a dream that I was having just before waking up, or it could be a whole new one. Is it possible to wake up during REM sleep and then fall right back into it?

For several years after being discharged from the military, I had recurring dreams where I'd suddenly find myself back in uniform. The theme was always the same...trying to convince someone that I'd already served my time and that this was all a big mistake. I was always glad to wake up in my own bed at home after one of those.

When I was a kid, I would sometimes dream of standing at the top of a very high staircase. I would hold out my arms and leap off the top step like I could fly, but thankfully, always woke up before hitting the bottom. I can still almost feel the rush of sailing thu the air. And to this day, I'm not comfortable standing too close to an edge that doesn't have a railing or barrier of some sort.

Many years ago, I had recurring dreams about witnessing a light plane crash, with the dream always playing out in exactly the same way. You can imagine how creepy it was when I actually did witness a light plane crash...and it happened exactly the same way as in my dream. After that event, I never had the dream again.

Actually the longest and most memorable periods of REM occur before wakening. Being awakened while dreaming makes most people grumpy, at least for a short while.

In sleep studies where sleepers were immediately awakened when starting to dream over multiple nights led to mild but reversible psychosis.

Thanks. Actually that makes quite a bit of sense to me. First time I've heard somebody make a decent analysis.

I'm an employee at a box store working in the hardware section.

A feeble old man with a cane and a large swinging bag, heavily worn, slowly walks by. He's twisted up like a pretzel. Every time he takes a step, the heavy bag swings and wraps around his cane; threatening to topple him over. He's at the very edge of defying gravity with every foot, but obviously has been doing this a long time.

My manager walks up, grabs the cane and bag out of his arms, and tosses them rudely to the floor. He gives the old man a cane which doesn't wobble and a bag which doesn't swing."You need to use approved equipment in this store" he tells the old man brusquely and leaves again.

The old man tries to pick up his stuff from the floor but can't reach. I help. It's his personal property after all and he needs to take that with him. I offer to carry them to the front of the store and become his attached assistant for the entire day instead of doing my own job, which I'm being paid to do and actually need to complete. He yells at me and insists on carrying them himself. Stubborn and a little rude. Huh. That's the thanks I get? Why didn't he get a wheelchair from the front?

Now the old man is fully loaded down with two canes and two bags. He falls over. Goes to the hospital. Sues the store for buku with a big attorney. The press and society is blaming me. I have to explain each video frame in court. The attorney is blaming me personally for not becoming fully involved and making better decisions for the old man. Now I'm responsible for everything.

Moral of the story which kept gonging in the background of my brain: Getting involved changes it and makes me liable. It's better to do nothing.

Dream analysis is not my hobby, but the interpretation of this one seems pretty obvious, no? Murdering essential workers and elderly, duh.

Any interesting dreams to report? This is a safe space, we won’t tell anything if we think you’re a psychopath.

So why don't we ever dream that we're the center of attention at a Dallas cheerleaders pool party?
