BTW, the only thing missing from that still of the video MC posted is a fez atop each drivers' head! |

I went to the SVRA Nationals here at COTA, and it's always a fun surprise to watch Minis and Alfas and whatever making a crapload of noise, ripping it up out there. Then you see the big blocks come out, and they make a metric ton of noise while ripping it up, and it all seems really freaking fasts, until you come back a few weeks later for the Porsche Cup cars, which make a mountain of noise but they're really fast while ripping it up. Then, you come back and sit 10 feet off the tarmac for the Indy cars, and everything else is slow and quiet. Fast is fast is fast, but nothing is as fast as a Mustang playing 9 ball. :p Quote:

I never imagined that I would see posts in a Porsche forum about how less power is better than more power (not just talking about this thread - its actually fairly common here), but each to their own, and I am entertained! |
Gobs of power must be a bit like having a 14" dick....hell of crowd pleaser, but what are you gonna do with it?
At least a nice cue is useful... |

Sure, I can't keep up with the Turbos, but that's because they're generally careening out of control off the road, through the underbrush towards that river over there, with two high pitched screams coming out of them...and only one is from a girl... :p |

Well, if I were to end up in the weeds, at least I would be able to sit in the car freezing my ballz off while waiting for a tow truck! Not too many of the vintage, n/a powered 911 guys can say the same (a/c shed for weight savings, since every lost gram is precious when dealing with such an anemic power supply!). I know you don't sacrifice the cold blower, however (probably have that bisch turned off while doing your bumper riding, though). |
I hope you are t being serious about sitting on the bumper of someone Mike.....

That, and my custom, kickssomuchazz A/C system seems to break down about twice a season...it's an ornery lil' thang. Has nothing to do with embarrassing cars with twice the POWWAAARR!! |
My meatlocker system has been getting seriously tested this week, especially during the evening drives home from work (fuukin hot here, like I'm sure it is in your area of TexASS) - continues to earn its keep but I could use more cabin airflow (already have a big ballz blower setup but need to do some ductwork re-designing . . . maybe try a little reverse engineering of the electro cooler system's airflow strategy). There's always room for improvement with these old ass things.

My Mighty Turbo also has dark tinted windows - helps with the acetylene torch sun, of course, but I also got tired of being harassed by beautiful women at every stoplight (always having them flashing their breasts at me, and even trying to pull me out of the car, got tiring!). |
I have long said that some of you Boyz may have more HP under the hood..but none of you can take me down in a corner.

I do think car control pertains to more powerful cars as well. All things being equal, save hp, the more powerful car wins every time. |

Nanny bashing, 90hp with nannies sounds funny to me. :D The phrase I'd rather drive a slow car fast should be replaced with, I'd rather drive a car with a manual H pattern and no nannies. Or the phrase Every time your nanny dash light flashes you can thank a German software engineer for saving you and your car. "Without the ability to manipulate each wheel independently, Its a fun challenge to try and be your own, ABS, traction control and stability control." Erik K. 2500lb Trans Am spec race car 740hp dog ring H pattern, no nannies = 3.3lbs per hp. and no driving credit goes to any nanny writing software engineer. :p |
