Good sir, I do not shiit about when it comes to mobile a/c; if the engine still runs, and the nose and left rear quarter of the car are still intact, then my frosty nutz, custom system will have all occupants reaching for coats and blankets, even during summer in TexASS.

And as far as the added weight, and power demands of the mobile refrigeration unit, weeelllllll, the turbo poooowwwaaahhhh laughs and flips the bird at such problems, unlike its naturally aspirated, 911 brethren that are sorely troubled with such concerns.

It's seldom you speak this highly of yourself. It's refreshing.

I do think car control pertains to more powerful cars as well. All things being equal, save hp, the more powerful car wins every time.

Everyone is deficient to some extent in either No 1 or No 2 or both. You evidently are deficient in at least No 2. SmileWavy

I'd give it a one and two for me.

But my driving comment stands. All things being equal, including driver.

It is easier to have more fun on the street in a car with low power and the type of tires that generally accompany a light weight, low powered car. You can drive a low powered car a lot harder at lower speeds. Can I do the same stuff in my Boxster that I did in my miata that had <1/2 the power, and tire? Sure, but I'd probably be going a lot faster. A miata at redline and 50mph doesn't attract as much negative attention on the street as a Boxster at redline and 100mph.

I previously had an '88 targa. It was nothing to run it up to 100, and not much harder to find yourself at 120-125. I topped 140 a couple of times and actually hit redline in 5th once (about 150). The boxster will do all of that, but I don't think I've yet topped 135 in it. It'll supposedly do just over 170 (171, I think) but haven't ever tried it since any time I was someplace where I could have gotten away with it, I also had the missus riding shotgun. I don't think she'd be a fan.

On a huge wide track would you still want to be in that miata if you also had access to a Boxster S or a 911 or a GT2, hell no. I think I'm also smarter than the average bear, and slowly probe/test a new cars limits (my limits really).

My Boxster only has 300hp (303 actually) and I can still get into trouble pretty quickly on the street. I'm sure it would still be a hoot at 400hp. I suspect that my car would be a little crazy at 600hp on the street without some other major mods to give it a lot more traction considering I can easily loose traction around here with only 300.

But then that saying about 90hp and 900hp wasn't intended for the likes of Mark Donohue or Michael Schumacher on the track.

My meatlocker system has been getting seriously tested this week, especially during the evening drives home from work (fuukin hot here, like I'm sure it is in your area of TexASS) - continues to earn its keep but I could use more cabin airflow (already have a big ballz blower setup but need to do some ductwork re-designing . . . maybe try a little reverse engineering of the electro cooler system's airflow strategy). There's always room for improvement with these old ass things.

Cargo shorts, dood, cargo shorts. With coat hangers in the legs to hold 'em open - then aim that A/C fan right up yer legs at the boyz...
