A RORO ship with 4200 Hyundai's has been laying on its side in the bay near Brunswick, GA for 18 months now. The largest floating crane in the US has been brought in to slice it up - Sonatas and all. They're using anchor chain with 3 foot links as the saw blade.

That must make one hell of a racket to saw through a ship with a giant chain.

It's hard to believe, but the chain cutting up the Golden Ray ship seems to be working. It took several days, but the first cut is done. It's not that loud. The chain goes so slow, it's not really cutting, but just tearing up the superstructure. Cars are already tumbling out. Down here we call it the Hyundai Pinata.

We just flew over that a few weeks ago. Flew with by buddy down to St. Simons for lunch...the proverbial $100 hamburger!
