Such a title to an article.. and then completely not explaining or covering the real reason why it's a thing of the past : emission regulations. They could get the power out of air-cooled. Porsche did that on their race cars. And clearly the reliability was there as well, that's what Porsche was famous for. But the one thing they couldn't get with Air-cooled is the improved emissions. Especially due to the warm up cycle which is hard to control on air cooled -bigger oil capacity -cannot turn off the air cooling -Higher design operating temp -Bigger clearances when cold Water pumpers don't have that problem - Thermostat - less oil to heat - lower operating temp so tighter tolerances when cold That means water pumpers are the only way forward due to emission regs getting stricter and stricter.. Something no amount of engineering could fix on aircooled engines. So emissions (and that water pumpers are cheaper to make) are the real reason not power or reliability http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608313603.jpg |

Back in the olden days when I was a student in Hawaii the chick that sat in front of me (assigned seating by the teacher) had hair that came to her ankles when she was standing. She would unfurl her hair all over me and my desk. We finally swapped seats and the teacher was not observant enough to notice. She was on the last row that way and let her hair flow into a box on the floor. It had to be a royal pain to have hair that long.

Is that propeller blade broken? Must have caused a huge jolt when it happened and a big vibration. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608352136.jpg

Put the third bridge in its place today.
Another project milestone. After the holidays we start with a big portion of roadworks and widening the canal to 90 meters. About double its current width. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608498537.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608498670.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608498709.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1608498770.jpg |
