I was looking for a welding supply store when I noticed this airplane in the lake. It’s right next to the Boeing plant in Charleston.

A fairly common problem on VW’s back in the day was the brass dump tube would fall out of the carb and be ingested and rattle around in the engine. I watched one time as a buddy of mine, next door in the BMW shop, cured one by racing the poor little VW engine at about 3K RPM, rattling away until it came spitting out the tail pipe!

I didn't get a pic (too busy looking to think about a pic), but it had some of the same elements as these like the very fitted, full fenders for the rear tires, and the super "clean" (seemed extra long) chassis between the cab and the back. I was getting some BBQ at a place on I10 outside of Houston when I saw this crazy, cool looking thing leaving so I got a good look.
The rear fenders were kind of like the fenders on the rear of this one
https://img.overdriveonline.com/file...ax&q=70&w=1200

And the frame between the cab and rear was like this, looked weirdly thin and just the frame (presumably, stuff hidden between the rails).

The one that I saw was mostly white with red accents. I think the cab was mostly white with a red stripe and some accents and the frame was red. It was very sharp. Afterwards I wished I'd been able to give the guy a big thumbs up or something.

^^You should 'googly' - Large Cars / Semi Casual. There are more than a few custom shops no different than say, street rod shops for hot rod builds. Also Utube 'Drag Race Semi Trucks -2022'
Try those on for a good fit!

These are the same little spring clips used on my 86 El Camino to hold on the window winder. No power windows. I have to push the door card back a bit to see and slip a special tool behind the window crank to push the clip off. It usually goes flying. And trying to put it back on is just as tricky. If it goes flying don't bother buying the Doorman clip as they are a different shape, and they don't fit. So keep searching for the original clip. It will be in the most hidden spot on the floor or in some hard to get to spot.[/QUOTE]

Devised a few ways to deal with these in the 80's and 90's when I was installing car stereos, some dum-dum or even electrical tape on the opposite side of the winder you were pushing from to catch or slow down the clip as it flew off, or a box or better yet a Tupperware container partially over the winder would catch the spring.

really a crappy design, only intended to speed up production of the cars, with no concern for future repairs.....like so many others, like the GM cars where with V6 motors, you had to move the motor off its mounts just to swap the rear spark plugs

One of our friends had two Irish Wolfhounds they had in the house. Rule one was never go over there without real shoes. If they step on your foot it is painful. One weighed 200 lbs, the other 210 lbs. Either one could walk up to the kitchen sink with all four feet on the ground, and put their nose into the sink drain. Just giant dogs. I am 6 feet tall, and they could walk up and sniff my mouth with all four feet on the ground.

The 3yo was there too. 30 secs before the bus showed up, the 3yo dropped trou and started peeing in the yard. He was going when the bus pulled up and stopped for the 6yo to get on. The bus driver is an old guy, so I'm sure it didn't phase him a bit.

The Mil V-12 is by far the largest helicopter ever. It was the brainchild of the Soviet Mil Design Bureau. This airliner-sized rotary vehicle was able to carry almost 200 passengers and payloads thought to be impossible by helicopter.

Many of us who raised boys probably have similar stories. Here's mine...

When our boys were young, we were in the habit of taking in Myrtle Beach in the off seasons when the rates were lower. We could stay in ocean front motels on the Soutn end of Ocean Blvd. for relatively cheap... going for 4 or 5 nights before Memorial Day plus again after Labor Day for what a week in the summer would've cost.

This one time when our youngest was 3, we had just come back from walking next door for a hot breakfast in this nice hotel's 10th floor ocean front restaurant. It was chilly and we wore windbreakers over our swimsuits.

We came back to the room, grabbed towels and jumped in the heated pool... which was also oceanfront. Felt so good. We were the only ones in. The 3 year old was in the kiddie pool which was only separated from the full sized pool by a few horizontal stainless bars. He called to his mom and she swam over to see what he wanted.

"I have to pee," he whispered. We had always stressed to them not pee in the pool, but when she considered getting out with him with the chilly wind blowing, drying off a bit, and running around the side of the hotel to the breezeway that led to the exterior elevator, she relented.

She whispered back, "it's okay, Joel... you can pee in the pool," and then she swam back over to me and told me.

The next thing we knew, he had gotten out and was standing with his little toes curled over the edge of the "big pool" with his red swimsuit pushed down mid-thigh and had a decent stream launched out about 3 feet. His knees and his entire body was quivering from the cold.

My wife, whispering loudly, "JOEL! What are you doing???"

"I'm lettin' it fly, Mom."

Her dad had taught and always allowed him to pee in the hedge around his back yard when they were out there hanging out... and had apparently encouraged him by yelling, "Let it fly, Joel!"

She glanced up to see if anyone saw it, and there was an older couple standing on their balcony a few floors up laughing. Of course she was horrified, but she was glad it was no big deal to them.

I think this might've been where we were staying... we did stay there a few times. Not our boys in the pic.
