Love that movie, but with all of those younguns coming in, it never really hits for them when we show it on the last day of work before Christmas break. That last day is for cleaning up the office, refreshing training, unplugging your coffee pots and for god's-sake-do-nothing dangerous or classified. Then, it's potluck and a movie!

And for a random photo (btw the security check into town for trucks and trailers looking for bombs or weapons had no concerns or questions) - Fat Man going into a car wash...

Gluteous Maximus, hurts but not exactly dangerous wound (other then infection).

Once out , it will hurt less when going to the hospital for Tetanus and Antibiotics shots.

And yes I know what I'm talking about, once had a knitting needle go through my left arm.. missed arteries, I yanked it out..
Also once walked half a mile home with my jaw hanging off after horse kicked me.

Dec. 16, 1862 During the long cold winters miners gathered in the many saloons in Bannack to pass the time. Robert Kirkpatrick described the drink served up in the bars: “ The whiskey was often made with two barrels of water and a few plugs of tobacco with a quantity of camphor and a little stricknine to give it tang to a barrel of pure whiskey making three barrels of red eye. When the ‘forty rod’ got near the bottom of the barrel it was so dangerous that a man sometimes dropped dead from the effects of a few glasses, having too much tang near the bottom of the barrel.” The Beaverhead County Museum photo of the Mannheim Brewery was built about 1863 but no longer stands.

Here’s a Saab you probably haven’t heard of, doing something it really wasn’t designed for; The Saab 91 Safir (Sapphire) is a single-engined, light aircraft built in Holland. It was used mainly by the Swedish airforce in the ‘fifties and ‘sixties. This particular example is a 91D, meaning it has four seats, and this one had been used for testing radio equipment before it was bought by a chap called David Williams. In 1983, Williams spotted the new Hinstock bypass was being built and decided to fly down it, and under the Pixley Lane bridge. Living locally he walked down and measured up, reckoned his Saab would fit, and stood his Dad on the bridge with a camera to capture his stunt on the day before it opened to traffic. His Dad was too quick with the shutter but a friend got this one, ’80’s quality pic, to prove it happened. And here it is, just a Saab on the bypass ~ motorpunk co uk

It should be renamed “mostly beautiful women” imo.

I wish they'd included the pic of the door to see how much of that was cut away. I'm betting they got a little wind and road noise (and rocks and crap inside the door).

TWO WHISTLES’ medicine hawk headdress and painted face were captured by Edward Curtis in 1905 on Montana’s Crow Reservation, southeast of Billings. The raptor’s split hide was attached to the braided-hair topknot. Two Whistles (Ishichoshtupsh) was shot during the Crow Rebellion of 1887, and his left arm was amputated below the elbow.
The Crow identified themselves as Apsáalooke (often “Apsaroke” in early literature), Children of the Large Beaked Bird. The stunning portrait appeared in Volume 4 of Curtis’s monumental 20-volume “The North American Indian.”

I just wonder if that was the inspiration for Tonto in the Lone Ranger movie.

Every time I see pictures such as these I am stunned by the total tonnage of raw material that was used to fight that war.
