Yep, that was my dad's reaction when they promised him a promotion to full bird and the Pentagon. He just retired instead.

He said he saw personally a Full Colonel washing the table linens and setting the tables as his "duties".

Dad was never there more than TDY duty.

Yep, I've had that one too. I used to drink a lot of soda. I stopped completely about 20-ish years ago. I had some on a vacation to Brazil, but otherwise, that's it.

My wife's turantula molted yesterday. Very interesting how they pull their legs out of the old exoskeleton, plus other parts. This is the third time he's done it, so he's probably going on four years old. He's not very big & really mellow. They have to take some time off to let their exoskeletons harden. This includes their fangs.
