1972.
This must be a populated area. Back in 1972 in Montgomery, AL gas was 24 cents for full service. The attendant pumped the gas, checked the oil, washed the windshield, asked about my family, and handed my a bunch of green stamps.
The first time I paid three whole dollars for a full tank of gas I was outraged!

Settled in 1860, Buckskin Joe, Colorado was one of the state's oldest mining camps. The rich deposits here played out in a few years, and by 1866 the town was abandoned. Buckskin Joe was notable as the location that Horace Tabor operated a store before moving to Leadville, where he would become known as the "Bonanza King", one of Colorado's wealthiest mine owners.

Large parts vehicle parts like this 1950 Oldsmobile hood are made in huge stamping presses at one of GM’s Metal Fab Division’s Plants. A visit to a Metal Fab facility is a sensory experience a person never forgets.

The press, then and now are mostly ignorant if guns. At the time, some reporter said he carried "pearl handled" pistols. Patton, said something like only a pimp or a river boat gambler carries pearl handle pistols, and hated the reference to them as pearl handled.

In 1953, a KLM Royal Dutch DC4 went down in a Saudi Arabia desert (note the bent propeller blades). A Kenworth 853 transported the plane through 4 miles of sand to the nearest road. The Kenworth 853 had side-by-side radiators, 6-wheel drive, a 300 gallon fuel capacity and a Hall Scott gasoline engine.

In the old days before nuclear bombs bought their massive destructive power to the game, if you need a BIG explosion, to get rid of a particularly difficult target, you literally need a BIG bomb stuffed with lots of the most volatile explosive material you can find. Size really was everything in the old days

I ran into something like this this past weekend.
The paint/aesthetics weren't this nice, but it was shortened similarly. We were both on the road and passed each other going opposite directions at about 25-30 so I didn't really get a good, detailed view.

I'm not sure if it was solid like ^^ or if it had tiny doors.

But it wasn't like this

Having a top probably makes the modification a bit tougher.

Spello, Umbria, Italy.
Spello is an ancient town and comune of Italy, in the province of Perugia in eastern-central Umbria, on the lower southern flank of Mt. Subasio. It is 6 km NNW of Foligno and 10 km SSE of Assisi. The old walled town lies on a regularly NW-SE sloping ridge that eventually meets the plain
