Agreed! This, and the “Chest Thread” undoubtedly got the most views...

Death by faulty page counter. :(

But, if you go to the first page of the thread, you will see that all the pictures are still there.

Your (and this) thread gives me a chuckle just about every time I open it.

I’ve followed it for about 10 years now.

Wondering how you’ve enjoyed wrenching on other people’s Porsches for the past ten odd years - I assume you became a Porsche tech for employment purposes.

The old thread was killed by one person on the thread. He deleted every post he had ever made on the entire site, and even deleted hes username and left. That many old posts just hammered the long thread page indexes and it was impossible to get to the final pages without some tricks. Several long threads were just trashed by his antics.

I was wondering what happened. Care to tell us who he was?

It’s been fun, I’m extremely well versed in them all now, 356s through 991s......it’s kinda crazy but I really bucked down and learned an unexplainable amount of knowledge from my shop owner.....who is a guru......
Don’t like piece rate pay as can be tough sometimes but other than that I’ve made it this far....lol

That's awesome Bell! It seemed petty to me that the old thread, which wasn't messed up to warrant a change IMHO, was altered by a few.

One of my pics was removed on maybe page 2 or 3? Total HS.

I doubt that anybody intentionally removed posts or pics on that thread to kill off the thread.. The board had a corruption in the indexes.. I'm sure it was all fixable, but since nobody did, we now have a new thread that does exactly the same..

And the old thread is still there for those who want to go back in time.

I really don't understand why people get worked up over that.
Aren't there any worse things to complain about in the world??

I don't get it.

It was not their plan to hurt the thread. They removed every single post on Pelican, and trashed several threads. He wanted to deprive Pelican of his vast wisdom, and he had a lot of posts. It must have taken days to do it.

A forum/DB should be able to deal with that.
There must have been a prior corruption in the indexes

Never had a problem seeing the most recent pics, there were just a few more pages that had nothing which drew us back to the most recent posts, no big deal. So what? Get over it, don't start a new thread.

Why is everybody pissing and moaning over the old thread that has been closed HALF A YEAR AGO.

When the new thread delivers EXACTLY the same function

How much longer are y'all going to cry about it?
