The new ones do. I flew a few maintenance hops with the French Navy in their Gazelle during the first PG conflict in Bahrain.

I was a sand bag reading checklists but the bubble canopy was great, something I always wanted to fly.

Again, I was quite drunk at the time. 😎

Off the shore of New York State, the Grumman Aircraft Corporation tested their brand-new fighter, the F-11 Tiger, in 1956.
A lengthy burst of gunfire from the pilot resulted in sudden, inexplicable damage that killed the engine and smashed in the windscreen.
What took place? The pilot had shot himself down.
Like other Grumman airplanes, like all Grumman aircraft, was named after a cat. With a top speed of 843 miles per hour (Mach 1.1), the F-11 was the Navy's only other supersonic fighter.
The aircraft was really Grumman's first supersonic fighter, and one test that Tiger would fail was due to the company's lack of knowledge about the effects of supersonic flight.

A lot of great (at/for the time) movies in there.

I love Excalibur and Clash of the Titans, both of which are still great even if the FX are a bit dated.

I've seen most of those. The only one that I don't remember seeing is "Victory".

And I love "King of the Mountain".

I need to see "Time Bandits" again. It's been forever, probably the 80s since I saw most of those.

A young boy, the child of migrant workers, at home in Edinburg, Texas, 1939. Such incredible details from 4x5 film photography. The little scrap of paper hanging side at the top left is a handwritten note that reads, "Thou shalt love thy neighbors as thyself." There is also a copy of the 10 commandments. He' d be 90 years old or so but this boy could still be alive today. I hope he went on to live a happy life.

https://www.shorpy.com/ often has great old photos, often scanned from medium/large format glass plates that you can click on to view VERY high resolution copies where you can see amazing details in shops, building/architecture, people, etc....

A welder works on cowls for Liberty Ships in California, 1942. At the peak of the Liberty ship production, shipyards could deliver a completed vessel in less than a week. The record was set by the SS Robert E. Peary, built by the Kaiser Permanente Metals Corporation’s yard in Richmond, California, launched just 4 days, 15 hours, and 30 minutes after the keel was laid.

I think the closet flange is correct WRT the wall, but if the WC is set facing the opposite wall then it fails the 2' clear space in front. IF some inspector refused this, then he/she has egg on their face because technically I can't find a violation as it is shown.

Oceangoing tug USS Abnaki takes the captured Type IXC submarine U-505 under tow, 7 Jun 1944. U-505 was captured three days earlier by the USS Guadalcanal hunter group.

A huge salvage dump of wings from German aircraft at No.12 Field Salvage Unit Depot, Hanover. All useful materials, especially metals were removed and sorted ready for re-use. Much of the salvaged material was shipped to the United Kingdom.
