1970 film Catch 22 by director Mike Nichols. The producers gathered 18 B-25s from around the US for filming in Guaymas, Mexico. Prior to computer generated imagery, some of the best B-25 footage ended up only being several minutes on film with most of it ending up on the cutting room floor. The film most likely saved many B-25s flying today from the scrap yard.

I just read the story about the first strike on mainland Japan. Very lucky and brave they were. The Japanese thought we were coming with single engine bombers which couldnt go as far and so they miscalculated the attack and all made it through.

This may have been exciting to follow.

It really sucks that someone just lost 20 bales of hay after a year of drought.

Wonder if the driver or passenger threw a cigarette butt out the window?

When I saw it I thought "how in the heck does that happen." I think you've probably hit on the key to it all.

And it’s weird when your kids get to be as old as you are! (I’ve got a 50 year old daughter!)

These enigmatic stones, known as "trovants" in Romania, grow, move, and even reproduce. They take in the minerals from the rain after each heavy downpour, which combine with the chemicals already existing in the rock to produce a reaction and pressure within that eventually causes the stone to grow and reproduce.

Here is a cool, old photo of an abandoned service station on Route 66 that was located just east of Kellyville, Oklahoma. The gas pumps look to be from the mid-'20s. We got a firm date of 1954 for this photo. The sign to the right looks like a Coca-Cola advertising sign. Kellyville is about 8 miles west of Sapulpa, OK on old Route 66. In Jack D. Rittenhouse's 1946 "A Guide Book to Highway 66" book, he says "KELLYVILLE... cafes; gas; small garage; no tourist accommodations... A small community with about ten business establishments." I am hearing that it was a bit west of Kellyville and was a Phillips 66 station.
The photo is courtesy of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation
