Here is ‘Portrait of the Artist’s Mother’ by Picasso age 16, in 1896:

I didn't really get Picasso until we went to a little museum somewhere in Spain (I forget where) where we saw a bunch of his early paintings. There were none of his later famous masterpieces, just early work like above. It's viewing all the paintings he did as a child that helps you understand how he ended up where he did. He matched or surpassed the previous masters at a very young age.

If someone said I could just have either car, I would pick the first one. It says 1974, maybe that was when Europe got it. 1976 for the USA, and one of my friends bought one. It seemed super fast. It is a slug compared to many cars of today.

My daughter houses foreign students when Interlochen Center for the Arts is not in session, like for Spring Break or whatever.

The young lady in the photo is a concert pianist not well accomplished in the English Language. The boys are my grandsons, Ambassadors of American Culture and good will.

There was a Picasso French restaurant in the Bellagio in Las Vegas from 1998-2024 that had quite a few of his paintings and some of his ceramic work. I ate there maybe 20-25 years ago and it wasn't grossly overpriced and the food was very good. I remember the quail appetizers. Sad to hear it closed last year after the chef passed away.

The South Pacific Ocean Uninhabited Area – a region in Polynesia, more specifically the southern Pacific Ocean east of New Zealand – is where spacecraft that have reached the end of their usefulness are routinely crashed. The area is roughly centered on "Point Nemo", the oceanic pole of inaccessibility, the location farthest from any land.
The defunct space station Mir and six Salyut stations are among those that have been ditched there. Other spacecraft that have been routinely scuttled in the region include various cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station, including Russian Progress cargo craft, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency H-II Transfer Vehicle, and the European Space Agency's Automated Transfer Vehicle. A total of more than 263 spacecraft were disposed in this area between 1971 and 2016. The International Space Station is slated to end up in the “spacecraft cemetery” upon being deorbited.
