  At the local playground on base at Maxwell AFB there was a pretty tall slide. There were about 8 boys that all went home and each of us got one long sheet of wax paper from our respective mom's. Sit on the wax paper, and go down a few times and the slide was waxed and extra slick. We could "catch air" on the hump, and the dismount was at a crazy speed right into hard baked red Alabama clay. We all went home with skinned elbows and dirt stained jeans, but man it was fun.
