![]() After signing the Instrument of Surrender on 2 September 1945, the Japanese delegation traveled to Tokyo to report to Emperor Hirohito that they had been treated with a magnanimity that Japan probably would not have shown the U.S. if the roles were reversed. The Emperor agreed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now that is STUCK at pro level. ![]() Battle damaged Panzer IV/70 (A), the only one of its kind left in the world. Note the round in the front. The round in its armor is said to be a 75 mm round from a Sherman. Can you imagine how loud that hit from the Sherman was inside the tank? Photo taken at Musée des Blindés, Saumur, France. ![]()

![]() The Panzer mk IV chassis shown above is technically an assault gun. Open in the top with very little ability to traverse the tube. Very likely the crew did not survive to complain about shattered ear drums. The 75mm Sherman (aka Firefly) has got a lot of bad press, but was effective with a good crew. The rate of fire was better than the German tanks.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Did you know that the tiny vertical groove between a dog’s nose and upper lip actually has a purpose? It’s called the vegetal groove (or philtrum), and it’s not there by accident! Each time a dog licks its lips, a bit of saliva collects in that groove. Through a process called capillarization, the moisture travels up to the nose — helping keep it damp. And why does that matter? Because a moist nose is much better at capturing and holding scents from the air. That’s part of what makes a dog’s sense of smell so incredibly powerful! ![]() ![]() ![]()

(uchhem please pardon the following unsolicited information)
The post referenced above does not show 'food' but rather a 'food product' which has no beneficial nutrients. The 30ft human G.I. Tract is designed around a micro-bacterial system which breaks down nutrients to be absorbed selectively. The appendix holds a concentration of this beneficial bacteria to replenish the system, after any flush due to system poisoning or flush removal of blockage. Bacterial cells generally outnumber human cells 10:1 in the body and DNA is only ~20% human unique. When we are 'hungry for something specific' the trigger is believed to be to be a feedback signal and originate from our contained hosts. It is a symbiotic relationship extending well into the local environment and it's bio-culture. That is why we are generally immune to MRSA and Staph cells which is everywhere in the air and on our skin constantly. ![]() Only a half dozen weak plants shown. The first batch of pesto was bland and flavorless with the plastic jar of 'available' store-bought parmesian cheese. Real cheese made the mix tasty. So good. (Pro-tip: Don't do this. Pull and process only one plant at a time. Remove all stems wilt and anything with black spots diligently in a bath. Wash and dry immediately.) ![]()
