^^^ He seems to be doing fine now. Uses that leg just as the other.
The first week after it happened...he was super timid and laid on a brick away from the others all day long. Now...as seen in the pic above, he is the one trying to get on the back of the larger one for more sun. So, I think he will be fine.

^^^ I actually thought I had torn his leg off. First thing I did was power off the pump but it was swollen inside the intake tube, and I couldn't get it to come out. I had to twist the tube while pulling...not a good idea, but I had to do something before he died.

Looking back at what happened....after shutting the pump off, I prob should have grabbed a box cutter and sliced into the corrugated tubing, between the pump and the turtle. I think the pump maintained a vacuum even when off. I had to hurry...never thought of that at that time. Live and learn.
