I used to hate how I would get spammed via fax. Every morning, there would be pages of information for vacation packages, and Pitney bose postage meters.

When I was a youngster at home...our phone was pre-rotary. Just had to pick up the handset and you would hear "Operator"
Give her the three digit number and you were connected.

Faster than todays cellphones!

I heard an old story about that:

Seems a guy was getting lots of spam faxes so he printed a full black page, and copied it several times. Then he taped them all together in a loop going through his fax machine, sending it back to the spam number.

Concept was that it would send a continuous black image and overload the spammer's fax machine and quickly burn through it's ink. No idea if it's true or just a story.
But I still like it.

Lots of restaurants and other businesses have fax #s... wonder if they get used much?

I think the last fax I sent was 2 decades ago....using the fax machine at my corporate gig.

I have been retired for 7 years now...my former work office had a fax machine.
The last few years that I worked...I don't think it was hardly ever used.

We use Efax. I think they still offer a free type account. Login to the website and upload documents to be sent. Done. For receive, they give you a fax number. Faxes sent to that number will be turned into a PDF and emailed to you.

Our printer CAN send a fax. We never use it.

I can fax from my scanner/printer thing

Handy for prescriptions for durable medical equipment. Write it out, scan it in, save a copy to the chart and fax it to supplier.
