VASH - I think you'll appreciate this - how to cook rice

I found the full video in good quality. Looks like he's actually a stand up comic based on the other videos that he's got online.

I know a bunch of you will appreciate it, but for some reason, when I watched the video my first though was of my mother and then the second was for the board and Vash.

I know how to cook rice in a regular pot. I don’t think we had a rice cooker At home until I was 12. And I certainly didn’t have one in college.

My rice Kung-fu is “white belt”

I’m not very consistent. It’s embarrassing.

Yeah, but I'll bet when you're done, there's no "soup" at the bottom of the pot that requires you to use a colander.

Do you do the knuckle thing to measure? I was in the 2nd and 3rd grade the first time I was in Japan. In the 3rd grade we had a "cooking class" and in that class, they taught us to make fried rice. I don't remember much of it, and couldn't duplicate it now, but I do remember them teaching us the knuckle trick (although I don't use it today because I don't remember it exactly).

I don't believe that. I suspect many/most of us are white belt, and you're at least a yellow belt.

This dumb okie even knows how to make rice the uncle roger way. I’ve lived in an Asian house long enough that I had to learn the proper way!

Oops, sorry for posting that smog question here. Screwed up.

Steve, that Uncle roger is funny. I watch that vid and can't stop laughing. I watched more of it hoping I can learn learn a bit more ( If I boil water, I would burn the house down) only to discovered that he's a comedian, not a chief. His other stuff is goofy funny.

I like Uncle Roger. Jamie is a quality cook and his side line is getting fat asses off the couch and encouraging them to eat meals that you can't microwave. Having said that, thank you so much Uncle Roger, I learnt a lot and will try to get my Wok cooking up to at least a decent standard.
