People confuse lean meat with healthy....
Animal fat is good fat.
What is problematic is what you eat with the meat and what you stuff you mouth with between the stake dinners..... and to some extent what meat you eat. They say "you are what you eat", that's true for the animals to and it replicates up the food chain.
Most chickens are raised terrible, stuffed with crap to just grow fast and not get sick (antibiotics). That kind of meat will never be good.
Same with a lot of beef.
An animal that has eaten what its supposed to eat, like grass for beef and a for chickens seeds/bugs/worms etc, produces a good and healthy meat (or eggs).
Processed meat, like sausages, are for some reason also not very good.
Find good meat "grown" as natural as possible with as little antibiotics as possible. Care less about how fat and red it is.
Beef, lamb, egg that really good food. Combine that with veggies, sallad and fruit and nuts.
I stopped going to the gym around Covid, but when I did I ate about a pound of red meat a day. Going back to the gym soon.

I'm a bit jealous of you Americans, you have so many good steak houses for a reasonable cost. Had a marvelous ~32 ounce steak in Chicago last year. Just have to avoid the equally marvelous cheese cake after it...

I hope Denis was cured of that move when we talked a few months back. During the next legislative session (Jan 2021) the State of Texas is going to step in and take over the Austin Police Department, and put it under the control of a separate division and appointed board under the DPS.

One of the Houston state reps, back in the day, filed a bill every session, which would revoke the city charter and turn it into a district controlled by the state. I knew him well, a forward thinker, and he was right, it should have happened.

Processed meats have nitrosamines - a fun Google search for you

They taste good tho.

It's like the experiments with skinny rats - the studies show that rats who are slightly starved live a lot longer.

But I bet they those are some very angry rats...

That’s the way I like it. Maybe a tad bit less done, but that’s in the ballpark for a good steak in my book. The center needs to be more than just warm.

Eating only healthy food doesn't help you live longer. It just seems that way.
The mortality rate of meat eaters and vegans are both 100%. One out of one person dies eventually. Just sayin

eating copious amounts of beef probably wont kill you that quickly..i think the lack of dietary fiber will..or it will make you regret eating all that beef.

there is no worse smell than a meat fart. :)

I have a dog that would cure you of thinking that, if you spent even one night with him.

Now I know why you make so much vegetarian stuff which of course all looks super tasty. My condolences on your intestinal biome.

It's been probably 20 years or so since this happened, but I assure you, it IS a true story. I've often wondered if I could find a copy of the program for my viewing pleasure........

So it's a weekday evening, I'm laying on the couch channel surfing the TV. Come across a documentary prepared by The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) airing on the local PBS channel. A documentary about "Diabetes in Mississippi". So I figure this should at least be interesting.

And as the story goes, the fine Doctors at UMMC decided to find a typical family unit from the vast cross section of families in our State. Their "typical family unit" was a single African American woman in her 30's with a daughter that was probably about 10 years old and weighing in at 150 pounds, they lived in a small brick home in a very rural area of the MS Delta region. The interview with the local physician went as follows:

"So, tell me about your diet, what do you eat?"
"Well, we eat KFC, McDonalds, ribs, burgers, steak...."

"Ok, here is what I want you to do. For the next 30 day, I want you to cut back on how much red meat you eat. Got that? Come back in 30 days and we will run some tests."

30 days later........

"So, how are things? Did you change your diet? What have you been eating?
"Well, we eat KFC, McDonalds, ribs, burgers, steak....."
"I told you to cut back on how much red meat you've been eating, and you are still eating the same thing?"

(This is the point where I honestly rolled over and fell off my couch....)

"It's not red if you cook it long enough."

--------------------------------------------------------------

It was at that point that I realized the problem isn't with diet, it's with stupidity.

I agree for the most part but it can vary as to what age everything goes to schit for different people. My concern was more that I might gack the next time I’m climbing a flight of stairs or loosening some lug nuts. I’m old compare to a young person but I’ve still got some fuel in the tank, if you know what I’m saying. :)

Im not really being serious here, lol. Like anything else, moderation. Hardly ever drink or eat steak. We've met before. You do look young for your age...
