Who farts after eating meat? is that even a thing?

We have more bacterias in our intestine, living of what we eat, than we have cells in the entire body.
A diet change will make you fart, at least for me. If your tummy (and bacterias) aren't used to eat a lot of meat sinking a huge steak might upset the balance.
Same thing if you aren't eating carbs for a while and then go for a big pasta.

You are all good, Denis. No worries. Meat and sallad is excellent. Its all the carbohydrates from bread, pasta and such that should be cut down along with all the highly processed food from fastfood and cakes.

Oh and the odd glass of wine won´t kill you either. :)

This. The studies linking meat consumption to increased mortality are generally crap.

It's the sugars, starches, carbs, grains and corn/soy oils that are making people fat and sick.

I've been eating meat, eggs and green veggies only for several years now. Health has measurably improved.

Having bio/biochem degrees, I know all about the bacteria in your gut but I guess being a real food omnivore (never buy anything processes and shop every two days for fresh food), they are all pretty happy campers down there, never experienced farting other than eating beans.

Balance is key.

While then, you’ve missed out on a hell of a lot of fun shooting 6-foot flames out your ass w a Bic lighter while getting drunk w your buddies in a college bar. :)

No, I cooked professionally during college as I had to pay for it myself. Worked close to 40 hours a week during college. So I get to make things like this now. Getting drunk in college vs. doing this now? Oh yeah, I'm reeeeeallllyyyy sad about not being drunk in college.

You don't want any of that but I am making lobster bisque next week and plan on shipping some base stock out with directions on how to incorporate heavy cream. Best in Boston, takes 2 days make.

Thanks Steve, one of the many benefits of not owning a TV: Having time to cook and slowing life down a little.

It’s nice that you know how to cook and even better that you are so humble about it. I think that you missed the point, though. It’s not about being broke or having to work full time or being flush. None of those things really matter, I’ve had them all. It’s about not being a self serious, humorless prig who can’t take a joke. :)

speeder 09-10-2020 08:12 PM

No wait....it’s about eating too much steak. My bad. :)

I think too much steak can make one grumpy (says the grump who doesn't eat meat).

speeder 09-11-2020 06:40 AM

Trust me, I’m not grumpy these days. I’m living the dream. :)

TAKE IT FROM A MEAT EATER, IT'S A LACK OF STEAK THAT CONTRIBUTES TO THAT EMOTION.

I can't recall ever having an unhappy thought after that first bite of a ribeye. Just thinking that I'll cook one for dinner brightens my entire day.

Maybe you were thinking of chicken.
