Absolutely. I had the flu a few years ago that lingered for 6 weeks with fever, night sweats, cough, sinus infection, lost my voice, loss of taste and smell, felt like crap and was exhausted by 1pm every day. I went to the urgent care 2x over this period and basically there was nothing they could do but over-the-counter treatment of symptoms. I slowly recovered but could not taste beer for another 6 months. That was a crime.

Absolutely. I don’t ever really remember having the flu as an adult.
It seems to be effective on me. Maybe. This year with my new and improve hand washing regimen, I feel pretty good going up against flu season.

There is really little downside in getting the vaccine. It takes only minutes. There are many places to get one. The out of pocket exense for most is little to nothing. Side effects are minimal.

No need.
I have a tattered surgical mask. It protects me from all the ill.

Double blind. Two-thirds get the vaccine, one-third placebo.

I made a typo. It is now fixed.
I work at a hospital. Flu shots are mandatory. Every year HR fires people that refuse to get one.

Here in NZ we are just coming out of winter/flue season and they had some stat's on TV a night or two ago. Each region; instead of having hundreds of people hospitalized with flu, it's only been in the dozens. They put it down to hand washing. I'm guessing they also went out less, didn't use public transport, and fled when someone sneezed.

Your opinion has just one little problem of living in a democratically free society as opposed to a dictatorial oppressive society where there is no free will choice.
If your reasoning was sound then I could say that for the good of society everyone must be forced to not drink alcohol or smoke anywhere at any time.

^ wow. Having a rough day? I certainly wouldn’t refuse your freedom to get the flu. Please just don’t spread it to others.
After having the flu twice several years ago and having to go to the ER for two bags of saline and anti-nausea drugs, I get a shot like clockwork. It also helps out healthcare workers in case you get COVID, so they can check the flu off the list and concentrate on treating COVID.

I have gotten the flu shot every year for the last 20, except for last fall. Every year I come down with some ailment (upper respiratory infection/flu/bronchitis) except this year....before Covid hit, I was re-thinking getting the flu shot, now, even more so !

Absolutely. I had forgotten what the flu was like until about 10 years ago. I thought I was going to die for 24 hours and then was miserable and in bed for a week

I am fairly certain that I had the flu once 10-15 years ago. It sucked. I got the flu shot last year or maybe the year before that, I can't remember.

The flu shot is not just about me, myself, and I . Just as important is the we and us. If I don't get the flu I can't give it to you.

I believe flu shot reduces risk of catching the flue. It does not eliminate the possibility.
