With Covid around, will you get a flu shot this year?
I haven't gotten a flu shot in 15 years or so, and have not had a bad case of the flu, until this year. I was sick for about a month and at times felt like I wanted to die. When I used to get the flu shot in the past, I always came down with the flu that season. I was usually down for a couple weeks.
With Covid around, I am reconsidering a flu shot. What about you guys? Btw, I had to take a Covid test last Wednesday because Lowes delivered a new fridge, and the delivery guy was Covid positive the next day. The test was unpleasant.

I got a flu shot.
I could survive covid, and I could survive the flue. But I thought both at the same time - certain death. |

I will in October. I cannot get any additional vaccines while I'm in the Moderna trial.
My wife will get it this week.

Yep.
My wife and I just last week got the first of a series of two shots for the Shingles. Or more accurately the Shingles two part vaccination. That made my arm hurt for several days. If it prevents shingles, I will be happy. My mom got shingles and she said it was way worse than carrying a child and childbirth.

We got ours last week. This is only the second time, and I was dreading it. The first time I got a flu shot (last winter) I had flu symptoms for about 8 hours. Chills, fever, and I couldn't stop shaking, my joints felt like there was something wrong with them. I don't ever want to get the flu for real and go through that for days. This year I sailed right through it, no side effects at all.

Every year I get mine at the office.
My company has a flu shot clinic once a year for all the employees. I just do it for the free chocolate :-)

Got the flu shot last week. I also got the shot last year but in early October.
In mid-April I came down suddenly with chills, high fever spikes and fatigue and as you can imagine I assumed it was covoid and spent 6 days in isolation before I got the covoid test results back (negative).. scared the you know what out of me however. I have no idea where I picked up the flu.

I've never had a flu shot.
May have had the flu once or twice over the last 30 years, hard to remember now. When I read that they 'guess' at which kind of strain will be prevalent when they make up the vaccine for the following year, I figured my chances of getting it were as good as their guessing which strain to prep for. I might get the Covid-19 vaccine if/when Dr. Fauci says it's the right one and will do what it's supposed to do. Until then, I'll pass. And keep washing my hands, a lot.
