Why do people stay in California?

Nah, it is still boring. Do it all once then what? No matter what you have available, most people usually just work and watch TV. Too bad that when you are young, you are broke and have no time...but you can always find something to do with those minutes of freedom. When old with lots of money and time, you can't even find a pickup basketball game with people that won't literally kill you (because there are apparently no fouls anymore). You spend much of your time just taking care of your stuff and your investments vice "hooker and blw." Life sucks all over.

On the other hand, I imagine it is worse to be old and poor and sick.

As far as admitting there is a problem, that is not the issue. It is the generalizations that are the BS, not the specific and quite obvious accurate observations.

My post named the problem - the heavily left leaning socialist agenda that has completely dominated the state: gun laws, ecology regulations, pollution laws, harboring illegal aliens (many are criminals), taking away the rights of citizens to support vagrants and drug users, rulings by the "nutty 9th". ALL these are due to the politicians of your state and the people who voted for them.
East Coast: I'm from NYC and it is as much a disaster as CA.
CA is viewed and judged by the rest of the country by the actions of those who rule and how the citizens behave and approve via the ballot box. Words are nice but your actions tell me who you are.

I suspect most residents do not spend a lot of time at any of them. When I lived there, most folks visiting them seemed to be tourists (And my life sucked the same as it did in the previous 5 places I lived...but worse, because everything was expensive and traffic was terrible. We went to most cool places exactly once.

There is an entire country full of great places no-one ever goes. No real reason to do so unless you grew up there or if your job moves there.

Except they are still moving to places like CA by the boat load. Just wondering why on earth they aren't moving to where you are - wherever that is- instead.

Funny how people choose where to move to. My hometown was poor and isolated. No jobs. That is why I left. A few articles in national magazines came out and said it was one of the best places in the nation to like and people poured in (largely due to housing costs and natural beauty). Now some call it "Little San Fran" as home prices have risen astronomically and there is a shortage. Locals are leaving so that they can find work elsewhere as the only jobs will no longer support them. Drugs, crime and gangs have come there...taxes have increased dramatically. Sometimes these small towns are better off not being "discovered"

As many have noted, CA has natural beauty and great weather. We would all move there if it had not been so screwed up in other ways.

By the way, there are mountains and streams throughout the nation.

Just saying that we have it here too. Also I'm saying that your photos of California doesn't represent what it's like to live here. The photos of where you live look beautiful.
