We weld HDPE all the time. The vacuum fuel gas lines on the powergen set are 12" HDPE

Your white plastic tank is most likely PP or HDPE. PP will be a little translucent like a gallon milk jug (unless its pigmented). HDPE will be more like a cutting board in your kitchen. PM me your address and I can send you a couple feet of welding rod of each. Either 4mm or 5mm. Don't glue it. Glue bottles are made out of PP and HDPE for a reason. Mechanically fasten it with a gasket or weld it.

Those tanks are generally polyethylene. The fittings are spun in, basically heat welded by friction. depending on the break it may be possible to re-spin the old fitting or go the next size up if you have room to get a drill in the space?

I have several of these and they work great. They’re just kinda expensive. I used a whole tube to glue in a grill insert in my wife’s tundra. It’s very strong and durable. If I want to change the grill in the future I’ll have to break out the cutting wheel because it ain’t coming off.
