The cheap stuff yes you have to reapply it usually only lasts 1-2 years. Even less for the DIY stuff.

Much of the cost is in the paint prep before you permanently seal over it with ceramic (if using the good products), even new cars aren't good enough for coating.

I'm considering it for my Cayman and 911.
Was quoted $3000 for the Cayman a few days ago.

A lifetime warranty sounds dubious to me. I called Opti-Coat and they said their coating requires proper washing to stay on the car- no touch type car washes and clean mitts and towels when washing and drying. $3,000 sounds a lot like one is buying promises. I wouldn't want to front anybody that kind of money and hope for the best.

If you go through the spinning brush style car washes then don’t waste your money on a ceramic coating. Nothing can protect against that.
