So I bought some Obenauf's and worked two pairs of shoes/boots I use the most and will follow with few more like the six inch leather upper Bean hunting boots I used at the barn a bunch.

Again, I have used a number of different products over the years but decided to give Obenauf's a go.

I was very liberal with the preservative

Those guys were just super tough. Now imagine how tough the Native Americans had to be. They were truly stone age peoples, but they figured out how to survive.
Wool is a great natural material for insulation and keeps you warm even if it gets wet.

No doubt, but it sure get heavy. Modern science has lots better clothing for those difficult conditions. I am 100% certain, I never ever want to test either of them personally. That is not my lifestyle.

Lots of people still swear by wool for some stuff.

Worst cold I have ever been in was -15* for several hours opening morning for gun deer season. I was bundled pretty good and had hand warmers, but it was still fairly brutal. I was glad I had a neoprene face mask on and had a good hat and hood on. My eyes were the only exposed skin. Once we stopped sitting and started pushing the deer it wasn't so bad. If it is in the 20s or warmer I don't even keep my gloves on while walking.

Obernaufs. Solid performance. It’s kept my super playful dogs collar in great shape. And he jumps in lakes with the thing on ( if we forget to take it off). Collar might be almost 4 years old and still looks and feels awesome. I just coated it up again since I was doing my boots.

I’ve worn the Redbacks twice at work. Comfortable out of the box and great ankle support. I think we have a winner!

Good stuff.
Makes old leather slippers waterproof as well. No oily residue.
