Alex Trebek RIP

Erudite and courageous, may he rest in peace.

And, never a hint of impropriety on his show.
No cheating scandal, no sexual misconduct.
What a guy.

RIP. He was a legend.

I think I know who the next host will be. I hope I'm wrong.

Classy guy... intelligent and a true gentleman. He was a breath of fresh air in an industry populated by bombasts. He’ll be missed. RIP.

I think I have a guess who next host will be. Last name starts with J.

The show will be different without him. Total class act and he will be missed. His last taped show is set to air on Christmas. RIP Alex.

He was great. I saw a story that he hosted three game shows at the same time for a while!

Can't really add more about him.

I ramped up my viewing of Jeopardy after he revealed his diagnosis.
It was great watching him interact with Holzhauer and Jennings.

Certainly a good dude is gone.

I'd rather see James, Brad, or Austin.

But it's probably not coincidence that he's an executive producer.

Only a true intellectual could succeed Trebek.

Watching the Monday episode. Nice tribute at the beginning.

I’ll be tuning in as often as I can till Dec 25th.

What a terrible loss. I'm not sure I want to engage if a new host is brought in. My thoughts are that the show no longer be continued. Thank you Alex, you will be greatly missed. RIP.

Finest game show host (a title that actually seems to marginalize him) in history - and it's not all that close.

I'd long hoped that during one of the celebrity tournaments they'd bring in a guest host so Trebek could compete. I suspect he'd have done quite well.

i loved the guy, and i loved watching his show.

but was he smart? i hear him mentioned as an intellectual.. i seriously think i could look and sound smart, reading the answers off the card. its not like he wrote the questions and answers.

dressed up and having all the answers, the dude from Jackass could sound smart.

i'm not trying to diminish the man's accomplishments, but just an honest question.

Can't say for sure, Vash, but I watched him extemporaneously expand on contestants' incorrect responses so many times over the years that I think the dude was pretty damned intelligent.

Well...maybe the show deserves to die without Alex...

Totally true for correct answers, but Alex often corrected wrong answers in a way that showed you he knew where they went wrong, and how he understood the answer they had given...something like 'oh, sorry you're about 400 years too early with that answer'. Especially in Final Jeopardy.
