I raced a couple years with the Rennlist guys, but that kind of dissolved.
I think so, but not sure they check that? I cant remember.. Its a great series with 4 levels of talent and some regions have sub racing nights of their own.

Funny, I prefer the three screens to VR so far. Maybe I have to get used to the headset.

The three screens are curved and wrap mostly around so it is setup 170* of view.

VR is 360* of view!.. Comes in real handy when you are entering a race track and you can look over your shoulder to see if anybody is coming.. (as opposed to the drivers who simply pull right out in front of you.. lol..

I will try the VR again. It just feels off to me somehow.

It is great for air combat sims!

One thing with VR over the screen is not so much the turning your head, but the moving your head. You can shift a little to duck the sun from blinding you.

The head turn can be done via a thumbstick controlling camera rotation even without VR. Trying to move just so to get a view or block a view is easy with motion tracking VR.

Sim racing

Revisiting this as i just got my wheel plugged back in after some time off for tax season. Have really taken a liking to the Ferrari 488GT3. Crazy good brakes and grip making dive bombing a hoot. Amazing how real the grip feels. Very much like r comps on a real car. Thus far really only comfortable with Lime Rock and Summit Point for road courses.

Just don't have the space to do a dedicated sim rig right now but pretty happy with what i've got. The wheel is a replica with alcantara covering and it feels soooo good. pedals are also fanatec with the load cell brakes.

Had an old kirkey sitting around for years. Wish i'd kept it to make a full rig.

Wow, I can do a hundred real track days in my real 911 for the price of some of those sim rigs.

Typical track day fee is what? $150? So your 100 track days entry fees are $15k. Now how much fuel and what did it cost? Oh, lets not forget the car purchase, tires, brakes, oil, other maintenance, insurance, accidents, engine failures!

Yeah, we all have our thing. I love track days too. Don't have a car for them anymore though so there's that.

I’ve pissed away more dough than Congress in the past week on wrecked 488s and Huracans. Wouldn’t want to experience that in the real world!

Only sim specific equipment I’m currently running is the wheel and pedals. And they are well worth it.

Wheel, shifter, three pedals, monitors, VR (for some), and then all the SOFTWARE to go with it. Funny thing is, dad comes up to play with that stuff! He likes the dirt track stuff, but he will play the cops/robbers games with the kids.
