Lunavirus coming to you soon

craigster59 12-03-2020 08:00 PM

You land on the moon and an hour and a half later you’re hungry for more adventure.

And they'll call it CDV (Cement Dust Virus) in an attempt to cover their tracks.

Congrats to China!

Nope, only Americans have sent humans to the moon and brought them home safely. Sending a robot is easier. No life support systems needed.

The Russians sent robots to the moon in the 1960s and 70s.

... Onward to Mars :D

The moon is a great place. China you'll love it! It's yours! Move there as soon as possible.

Thing is... Space is the perfect environment for the manufacture of ball bearings.

You would be able to produce near perfect ball bearings in zero G so they'd last almost forever.
(both balls and races)

The moon is also a perfect place to launch small missiles at satellites. If your company owns a satellite or two and they don't like what you're saying, retract, or your satellites are gone. You could take out world comms in no short order.

Bill Douglas 12-03-2020 10:32 PM

Yes but we could return fire easily. With zero gravity even minimal loads in the 7mm RemMag would travel a thousand kilometres.

Yeah, but it will 90% likely be fake

That landing scene looks kinda famaliar. The landing strut and its shadow cast on the moon's surface looks like a clip from our LEM back in 69? LOL! CMON MAN! I ain't buying it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/roker.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/roker.gif

well, they subsidize their industry a lot more than we do...

Very strange, my old Toyota 4x4 mileage is only 5k miles away from the moon and I don't recall being over taken by anything Chinese

I would think the moon is a wee bit far to launch at earth satellites.
energy to bring it to the moon
orbit it
land it

then launch, de orbit, and get back to earth..

1+1 does not equal 22

It would be WAY more effective to put a couple of High orbiting stations for that purpose..

They have one of these, 100 times larger and are aiming it at you

But they will cost $100,000 per ball. And a race will cost the same.

Initially true but just like anything else... Economies of scale will kick in at some point.
