To further answer the question about distancing during filming:
![]() But on the plus side, Haley Atwell is in the film. Thus continuing the hot co-star theme of the MI franchise

Wouldn’t watch it if it was free. Come to think of it, I haven’t watched the last few Mission Impossible movies for free, either. I sense a pattern forming.

i'm not even gonna pretend to understand the mindset of a person that is worth that much money, grew up super handsome, gets their ass-kissed by hollywood nonstop, etc. i could imagine them getting a little big in the head. sure.
yelling? we only hear the simple context. you could have taped my mom back in the day, and child protective services would have sent in air support. i only just heard part of the yelling recently..it barely blipped on my "give an eff" radar. i have real life to concern myself with. watch his movie..sure! why not. i like the series. i even thought he made a good Jack Reacher as well, even tho he is a munchkin compared to the character in the book.

A friend in show biz jokingly commented that he kinda wishes Tom Cruise was the COVID safety officer on the jobs he's been working.
In the productions on which he's been working (here in LA), he generally gets a rapid COVID test every day before being allowed to work, and then he's given a new N95 mask. My social comment is that we can't find it in the budget to do that for frontline healthcare workers (like in hospitals, ERs, nursing homes), but we can find the bucks to make it happen in Hollywood.

Having lost my stuff on job sites, it’s extremely frustrating when rules and guidelines are set to protect the well-fair of everyone on the project and inevitably a few decide they don’t care to abide.

I have no problem with what TC said or how he said it at all. If I had been in the room where he was chewing on peoples ass, and I was not one of the offenders, I could care less. In fact I might even have appreciated somebody doing that, so that the offenders would get their **** together. If I was one of the offenders and had been told already repeatedly to follow whatever the protocol was, it would strike me as a time to straighten up or walk...
Some of you people are so soft, he yells, cusses a little, so now he's an *******. Yeah he should've just given them a timeout...... Jeez.

I read five people quit because they got schooled. So, are they going to sit at home and not get paid?
Or, claim they have PSTD now.

Getting yelled at like that is not cool but Tom calmed down towards the end and adjusted his attitude... For most people that's not an easy thing to do.
He's definitely a "Prima donna" but living in his world, he would be better than most of the people surrounding him.

This trailer has been out for some time but I held back from updating this thread to get my thoughts together.
The marketing for this movie has been cranking up for a while. Regardless of what the early critics might say I will see this in a theater (just as I have for all of the other movies of this franchise). (Pete's broken record time ) Overall the Mission Impossible franchise is better than Bond. Better directed with better content. Bond especially the Daniel Craig movies are great but M.I. is at another level IMO. In fact it's one of the best franchises of all time. I love Star Wars but I feel the last three movies could have been better but they're not as bad as some "critics" would have us believe.IMO this is text book "How to produce an effective trailer". This is Pom Klementieff ("Mantis" in Guardians of the Galaxy): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pom_Klementieff ![]() And Vanessa Kirby: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanessa_Kirby I'm really glad she's back for this one... Absolutely Stunning!

What kind of garbage is that? Do people listen to stuff like that for more than 5 seconds?
I feel sorry for anyone that does. AFA TC goes, I found the MI series to be way too full of CGI. Movies that are more like video games don't interest me whatsoever. Protracted car chases and gun battles where bullets are bouncing off corners that in real life they would go right through doesn't help. I didn't particularly care for Yellowstone after S3, but when they got the guns out it was over in seconds as it normally would be. And they certainly didn't succumb to a horse chase like the Lone Ranger that would have worn down a horse in less than a minute. |

Like the guy or not, if it wasn't for Tom Cruise and his movies, which are always excellent, most of the other stuff that comes out of Hollywood these days is crap.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find all of the Mission Impossible movies to be so technically preposterous that I can’t ever enjoy them.
