I feel sorry for anyone that does.

AFA TC goes, I found the MI series to be way too full of CGI. Movies that are more like video games don't interest me whatsoever. Protracted car chases and gun battles where bullets are bouncing off corners that in real life they would go right through doesn't help.

I didn't particularly care for Yellowstone after S3, but when they got the guns out it was over in seconds as it normally would be. And they certainly didn't succumb to a horse chase like the Lone Ranger that would have worn down a horse in less than a minute.
I think the MI movies have less CGI now than they did back in the beginning. But yeah, like most action movies these days, they are generally over the top. Fortunately, I'm fully in touch with my inner 12 year old, so I regress and enjoy the over the top silliness.

Yep, I don't get folks that don't like his "religion" or "politics" or whatever and won't watch his movies. I don't personally know any movie stars or celebrities. I assume like anyone else, I'd probably dislike some, be ambivalent about others, and actually like a few. But what I think about them personally doesn't impact my being entertained by them unless they did something REALLY heinous.

TC is good at what he does, and makes entertaining movies.

Hell, he was even great in "Tropic Thunder."

I think that's kind of the point of MI, 007, Star Wars, Star Trek, any super hero movie, etc.....

Most movies are preposterous in one way or another.

I tend to not go to the comic book hero movies, either.

I recently attended an Army reunion (I've been out for more than 30 years).

- Most of them were unrecognizable and walking sticks were common. A sea of white haired old me and almost everybody had gained a serious amount of weight.

Honestly looking back now I regret going to the reunion.

I don't mean to brag by posting this but this photo was taken about 4 weeks ago on a family trip to a winery. This is me and my eldest daughter (no filters, she's 33 and I'm 58). I ride a bike most days, surf most of the year and watch what I eat. Most importantly I always wear a hat when I'm outside and I don't care what people think. Genetically I'm lucky but the rest is hard work every day.

Thanks but my daughter brings the light to that photo.

I was 24 years old and sitting in a waiting room alone on the night of her birth. My ex wife had to have an emergency cesarean and she was really scared. I.will.never.forget. they way she looked at me as they rolled her into the operating theater. Honestly everything changed for me that night and I made a deal with God that I'm still trying to honor to this day!

BTW and I've posted this before so please forgive me. I raised my three kids on my own while my ex was interstate working on her relationship with a guy she met online. That guy did me the biggest favor of my life! If I ever meet him again IRL I will shake his hand and thank him sincerely.

Don't be impressed though. I had to step up because there was no other option & I got the better part of the deal.

- Life always finds a way to surprise us!

Cruise is a strange person - however he is the most commited stunt actor you'll ever meet. The documentary on this motorcycle jump from the cliff he did was unreal... I would not do this for all the $$$ in the world, and he did it repeatedly, over and over till the shots were perfect. He fell from the chopper (rope stunt) last movie also, broke his leg jumping a building also, one of these days his luck will run out, but big respect for that... ALso for flying his own mustang in top gun... If it's that silly religion of his that makes him so fearless, I should reread dianetics ;-) (LOL, I accidentally bought it as a kid thinking it was the latest book of battle field earth, nope)

No, it's not normal aging. It is possibly normal for folks that maintain their weight and fitness and have decent genes. Most folks don't maintain their weight or fitness. And there are a lot of folks that at 60 look 75-80.

So after all that I finally saw it last night... I generally loved it but IMO it wasn't as good as "Mission: Impossible - Fallout".

The action set pieces were beautifully done but the CGI became a little obvious at times (The train tunnel scene especially). Great flick overall and I highly recommended seeing it on the big screen but dare I say it? Mr Cruise is starting to show his true age!

In brief... Good movie, I hope Part 2 is better but it's still worth seeing in a cinema!

Financially it's doing OK but the timing of the release could've been better (Barbie & Oppenheimer).

Productions Cost - $290,000.

Domestic (33%) - $124,160,809
International (67%) - $252,100,000
Worldwide total - $376,260,809
