But is it sport? I would say more a performance art. I get having competitions but like ball room dancing or tango. There are also a bunch of current Olympic sports that should be scrapped for this reason.

Maybe part of the X Games?

i would imagine, that "double dutch" jump rope would be a better Olympic sport.

specifically if they wear bikini bottoms.

Projectile Vomitting is a measurable activity so there can be no dispute about who should get the medals .

Didn't break dancing quietly die in the late 80's?? For good reason....

Also, is it a sport? Can you get a scholarship for it at a University? Are there competitive leagues? The Olympics is about sport right? Who are they pandering too??

Sorta my thought. IOC trying to appeal to the kids with a pastime enjoyed by teens 30 years ago.

I *think* they are trying to capitalize on the popularity of TV dance competition shows to draw in $pectator$ and keep relevant. Pole vaulting can only draw in so many fans...

Why not? Just add apple bobbing, arm pit farting contest, hog calling, wrastling extremely large country gals in the hay, etc. Now a days any idiot can get a Nobel Peace prize, why not stop here with extra olympic add on's?
