Break Dancing an Olympic Sport
hopefully not PARF-worthy
|
I heard this on the news last night and I KNEW someone would start a thread on it today.
Well done. What about ballroom dancing? Bowling? Mowing my lawn? Changing a flat tire? Ordering at a drive up menu speaker? Installing crown molding? |
Competitive farting...
Id watch that. |

Next up, Tap Dancing, Ballet, and C&W line dancing!
With the virus NCAA football games and basketball games are not raking in the mega money, so they colleges are slashing the men's tennis, men's gymnastics, men's volleyball, men's rowing. Of course the women's events are OK due to title 19. |
Never did like judgement call sports in the olympics with winners decided by politically motivated judges. Go for all the less watched games you choose...but please make them games where there is a clear winner.

there should just be one category called "disappoint your father" sports.

I don't think you can deny hip hop dancing is athletic. And I understand the desire to keep the list of sport relevant.
I question skateboarding as an olympic sport. You can be a very good skateboarder without being particularly athletic. |
Is break dancing any less "sport" than the ribbon and ball dancing?

No doubt most any Cirque du Soleil performer is more athletic than a ribbon dancer. They have some fantastic shows and I will watch a Cirque du Soleil show and if I never saw another ice skating performance I would not be disappointed.
