Hah! My wife started making homemade pasta this year (we've only had the maker in our drawer for like 25 years without using it prior). Last night we ate homemade bucatini. She sent me this article yesterday, too. I had never heard of bucatini until two days ago.

She gave herself a "C" on the result, but she's her own harshest critic. I liked it

Nope! An extrusion attachment for her pasta maker. Like this:

My wife has the pasta maker attachment on her KitchenAid mixer that we made our first batch the other night (Christmas Eve). We had spaghetti, and linguine hanging all over the place drying. It was an awesome new experience that we will repeat often.

She may have to look into the bucatini extruder at some point.
