Fellas,
I am truly humbled and touched deeply by the outpouring of thoughts and prayers. I can't begin to express to you how much it means to me and my family. Thank you all so much. To those of you in the health care profession that deal with Covid on the daily, you guys and gals are heroes. I'm not ready to go yet, I have two girls in college and have 11 months before I retire at 54. Plenty of time to start a whole new set of adventures. Continue traveling, riding my motorcycle. Ect. Thats the plan. First we gotta get through this Covid mess. I've been less then impressed with the precautions they have taken at my job in order to protect us from exposure. I deal with to many people, and I mean coworkers who just aren't cautious enough. I'm one of few people in my office that took the vaccine. In my case. I tested positive for covid a few days after I took the vaccine. So did my wife. In hindsight, i think i was already positive when i took the vaccine. I had a mild cough earlier in the week and took the vaccine on Friday. By Saturday i had a fever and nausea which i though was just a reaction to the vaccine. This worsened, so Monday we got another covid test which was positive. My wife was able to get her fever down and thankfully is doing great. We were not able to get my temperature down and my O2 levels dropped down to 83%. Long story short. I ended up going to the ER. They found i had pneumonia in both lungs. They were able to control my temperature They immediately put me on oxygen, which im still on currently, gave me a slew of steroids and convalescent plasma and now I hope to recover at home. Its just gonna take some time... I feel blessed that I think we caught the lung issue early enough and again with time will recover. Another problem I'm having is loss of taste. The only thing I can barely tolerate are egg whites. Everything is awful. Even water doesn't taste good. Its really starting to mess with my head. Its a struggle, but I'll get thru this. Sorry, for rambling guys. Thanks again everyone for the well wishes. I'll keep you all updated on the progress.

The important thing for you and for us to know is that you are doing well and in a recovery mode. A probable factor is that you are relatively young and in good health before contacting it. Even though we're all only connected by the internet, we're still connected, familiar, and concerned about each other. Make sure they take good care of you and let us know some good news.

As someone whose parents are going through this right now, it's always a great to hear from people who made it through. Mom was touch and go for a week similar O2 levels to you), but now much better (still no sense of smell or taste). Now dad is the one on oxygen at home and fever comes (mostly at night) and goes.
I know of a few people who took months to fully recover. Thoughts and prayers for you and your loved ones.

Thanks, Mike. It sounds like there is expectation of recovery and that's the important thing to us, and to you and your family. The symptoms/problems will also recede.

Praising God for this update.
It has now been one year since it passed through our work place. Didn’t even know what it was until a customer informed us we’d been exposed after he tested positive. Perhaps it was a milder strain but young and old all recovered.

Hang in there Mike, with your time on the job I know you are looking forward to retirement which you deserve. I am about the same age and have thirty one years in with The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Send me a message when you are back on your feet, would like to exchange a couple of patches. Stay safe brother. A prayer of thanks has been sent. Steve
