Since your car is a kit car of sorts it would be helpful if possible to show documents that it was built by an experienced shop.
Half of all kit cars are low budget builds by shade tree mechanics.
I nice binder with receipts and documentation of proper construction and quality parts/drivetrain would lift the quality of your car above the average kit car builder.

Bat buyers like to see documentation and big receipts along with pictures and videos.

Hey guys...follow-up on my end.

I just sold my Euro Spec '79 BMW 635CSi on BaT and it was a wild ride.

Literally in the last 2 minutes bids jumped up by 50% at first I thought it was going to be RNM but the end result was good. The entire transaction was butter smooth, I was paid within 48-hours and the new owner who lives in Phoenix received the car within a week.

Here's the car:

If you can get a reserve you are comfortable with (big if) and the car fits their profile well I think BAT can be a good venue. You certainly have to be a seller who's comfortable representing the car and won't get upset at some stupid questions. A buddy sold a Moto Guzzi Cop bike on there a few weeks back and did very well.

Beautiful car! I looked up your auction and the comments were great, especially the ending 10 or so.

Well done!

I have tried to sell in the past and have considered the consignor and BAT. The only problem I am finding with BAT is that Howard there is very, very slow in responding to emails. 3 weeks with no response I had to call just to leave a message. He wants some interior shots which is not a problem its just when will he get back to me.

I sold one car on BaT and it was a back-and-forth wrt the reserve...it's a negotiation, like anything else. Either side can say no. I rejected their first offer and they came around. It worked out and the car sold.

The prices are very strong there for good merchandise and sometimes even for not-so-special cars, IMO. I'm endlessly surprised by the market they have created. Cars with incorrect parts or hidden accident history discovered will get skewered there, as it should be. The comment section is what makes the site.

My concern is when will he respond - 3 weeks with a daily email sent out to him with no response does not help me in the confidence area that my vehicle will be on BAT this year.

With as many cars as they have 'active' on the site it's no wonder they are trying to hire ad writers, or at least they were.

I've bought and sold a few on BAT - as many have said - lots of pictures - stay active and answer questions. Be forthright. People will come out and say anything - don't get your feelings hurt. I got a great deal on a Mercedes 560SL that's in fantastic original shape. We will keep that car for years to come.
