the latest victim a Chinese grandma fought back with a stick she picked up and put up a good fight. the news footage had him in the Ambulance stretcher and she had an ice bag over her eye. I would have put her in the stretcher and the guy on the sidewalk cuffed to a signpost waiting for the next ambo.

I try not to watch the news, and hadn't heard until my mom mentioned it a couple of days ago and then our CEO sent an email about it at work.

WTF? Where the hell did attacking Asians come from? I don't understand this at all.

Exactly, these "people" need to get their arses handed to them. I love the story about the old lady beating this guy. He started it, she finished it.

Although honestly, any "man" that picks on ANY old person or woman or kid (Asian or otherwise) needs to get his arse handed to him in the most humiliating way. Maybe like the story above, where the tables are turned.

Some people are just ignorant/stupid/hateful . I get it that folks are angry about Covid and it's link to China . But Chinese Americans have nothing to do with it . I just watched the included video.

Yeah, the cops should have gotten "distracted" a couple of times so the lady could have gotten in a few more good whacks with the stick while the guy was strapped to the stretcher.

"Police say they are working to determine if bias was a factor." Anyone find that phrasing odd coming from the media? No mention of "hate crime" or "racially motivated," but instead called it "bias."

If you watch the video, the guy's in the video. Looked like a 25-35 year old white dude to me.

As far as I am concerned there is nothing better than a plate of Chop Suey.

The whole clip felt strange, like they were trying really hard not to mention the ethnicity of this clearly targeted group (within the examples they showed). Other than "Asians" in the ticker, none of them actually said that word. It's like they're trying to be ultra PC, lest they piss off other victim groups and/or perpetrators. I know we're all living in the age of enlightenment, but too many people seem to forget that racial justice isn't an either/or problem restricted to their own group.

Unbelievable level of ignorance and stupidity. The Asian people walking down the street have as much to do with the pandemic as the pigeons at the park.

The culprits need a good long stay in prison, real prison, to understand the brutality of their actions have consequences.

IMO this stuff is being promoted via social media. Arsehats have always been around but like minded people can find each other a lot easier now... I really hope we can all look back on this one day.

Are you saying just call it a hate crime? At first blush, it appears that way. Especially if he whacked an Asian man before the subject incident.

Now the second vid of the three guys beating up (more wrestling) the Asian man in the laundromat smells of the need for drug money.

Sadly the victims are old folks who can't really defend themselves through a couple vids through my utube feeds. What if the victims were old black folks. I bet they would mention racist over and over again. Sick of the media. Again, like all things it will pass and it will get worst before it get better. For some reason, that dude in white looks to be a nutty homeless person?

Those two could cross paths daily. There may be more to the story.

The media will use "Hate Crime" when it fits their narrative.
