 I’ve had similar experiences in my extended family, it’s why I still DIY. The few times I take my car to a shop I nearly always regret it.

It was her grandfather's truck in Montana, I got under it and it is as dry as the Mojave desert. Not even surface rust, anywhere. It will seriously last another 35 years with proper maintenance. She is someone who can easily afford a new one but likes this truck and I don't blame her.
