Wouldn't it be grand.....
if we could hear Jim Nabors sing "Back home again in Indiana" just one more time?
It sure set the tone for the Indy 500 for a lot of years. |

Funny, I was just thinking that he is one of the traditions I miss most about the race.
I can remember the first time I ever saw him sing it (on TV) and was blown away by the fact that Gomer Pile had that kind of voice.

Same! I learned of him through his roles on Andy and as a USMC. Later heard him sing and wow, so good. His vocal range must’ve helped being an actor a tad easier.
