I got some of the ant bait where you put a clear drop of thick fluid down where the ants seem to hang out, and that gets them. I'd put a few drops in a few spots and within a day or two, the ants would go away. They'd be gone for a few days or a week or two. They'd come back and I'd put more drops down. I think I had to put drops down 5-10 times over the course of a few months, but then they stopped coming back. I feel like it had to do with frequent rains driving the ants to try to avoid the wet environment. Of course, in Cali, that's probably not an issue.
crazy ants!!

my first encounter was in my bathroom. just sitting there peacefully...err. reading?..i would see the trickle of ants. i think they were looking for water. i used Terro on that batch and it took two weeks for them to go away. i just kept refilling the baits. i finally simply clear silicone filled the cracks and i haven't seen them since. there is probably Ant-Palozza in my crawl space. hahah.

We had a nest that would not go away so my wife dumped a bunch of borax powder on it. No issues since. No grass there for 5 years either.

Indoor Amdro was the only indoor "trap" that was NOT borax based ... and those have never been effective in my experience.

Ants also hate bamboo .... the choice is yours
That's what I use.

I use the Amdro granuals outside, and the little Terro liquid bait stations inside. I’m diligent about getting those two out any time I see an ant around the house and after a few years I almost never see them around.

my cat last night spit up a chunk of cat food. right in the middle of my kitchen. I woke up to a big black ball of ants. hahah.

they were coming from the gap in the trim right by my sliding glass door. I cleaned it up. sealed the crack AND CALLED a pro pest control company for an evaluation.

i'm over chasing them from place to place. my cat eats mess. I am going to feed her outdoors while I have good weather - starting today.

I've had luck with the Terro baits. It takes awhile to kill the colony but seems to work.

I've used the Terro liquid bait when I have seen ants inside before. It usually works pretty quick. See a trail, put a few drops in their way, they eat it up and share with friends, next day, no more ants.
