Totally agree with that.
What a comedic genius she was!

One of the first set decorators I worked with when I got in the business started at Desilu as a laborer where his Dad worked as a prop master on "I Love Lucy".
He had a great story involving Lucy and how he got into our union, IATSE 44. Not something that can be posted but a good story to tell over a beer.

Lucy dated Albert Broccoli? And his nickname was "Cubby"?

I really DGAF about this cancel culture. I never met her or anyone she worked with. That crap should stay with that crew. I grew up watching her crazy funny shows with Desi and enjoyed the experience. Why are people trying to sully that for the world? F that. She was, as Sup said, an IMMENSE talent. That she had warts is of no interest to me unless they affected those in my circle. Otherwise non of my business or concern. I could say much more on this trend but lets keep it in OT.

It is often true that the best comedians have the darkest history.

She was a real person with real issues in another time that pursued and ultimately succeeded in her goal. I found the article fascinating. She's not any less funny, or any less talented, and I'm not going to enjoy her work any less.

I've heard that many, many times myself.

I would not have guessed that is Lucille Ball.

Why does this need to be published? And why in the world do we need to know these sordid details? It's just another attempt to bring down Americana and the things we loved in the past. I hope it tanks!

I knew a lesbo who was infatuated with her. She had various topless pic's of her around the place and said Lucille had worked as a life model in her earlier days.

My FIL was a fireman in San Diego waaay back. On his days off, he drove a limo. He drove all those people we have seen in old movies. Mostly told me about them Blowing off steam and drinking to excess. Seems like what people do. Same as it ever was.

I'd like to believe that this isn't what happens now for young actors. But I'm not sure I have that much faith. |

I always liked her and her shows... "The Long, Long Trailer" is a great movie.
But was she really a "bad girl"? She certainly didn't come across that way.

That lady had more balls than most guys. She built her own production company and made a success of herself despite the predatory actions of those more powerful.
I have heard part's of this story before and I believe it is better to know about the hell some went through so that others could enjoy the facade of Americana. And no, I don't agree with the title either. Best Les

One thing about Lucy I've read that when she was with Desi, she wore a bracelet with his name on the outside and the word 'Slave' on the inside.........
And everyone thinks the 60's were wild.
