G shock makes total sense, they are a respectable brand in the watch community for what they are. If you are doing extreme activity, g shock is a good choice.

A $50 quartz Timex is more accurate than just about any automatic at any price.

What I've heard over and over again is that folks that need ruggedness, reliability and accuracy often have something like a Casio G-shock.

We've all seen the war flicks in which the troops are told to synchronize their watches.
That was part of military spec at the time...a hacking feature. Probably still is.

People in the delivery service industry also tend to use Toyotas or equiv, not Porsches.

Why argue the rationale of why people buy expensive automatics. (Just like why people buy Porsches, Ferraris, Aston Martins, et. al.) They just do. And more power to them that they can. :-)
