Right, your avg person can barely drive a car much less pilot a plane.

Amazing what the FBO will give you with the purchase with 300+ bucks in fuel.
Funny you say that.

I stopped at small airports all the time on cross country flights when I was flying SH-60B's that had "contract fuel", meaning I could put it on a government credit card.

This was in the '80's when Green Stamps and other incentives were offered.

I would buy 500 GALLONS of gas. I, of course, couldn't keep any incentives so I made a lot of private pilots happy with Green Stamps

Non- pilots don't realise how long the preflight checks take; airplane, weather, nav; that is if you want to stay alive after the return to earth.
Shortly after I became joint owner of a plane, I decided to fly to a customer whose premises were right beside a general aviation airport. When I taxied in, I could see the plant on the other side of the perimeter fence. It would have been a three mile walk each way, but fortunately they customer came to collect me, and drove me back afterwards. No loaner cars at UK FBOs that I have ever noticed. Just adverts posted for taxis.

Yeah, it's pretty cool that that still exists and it seems the smaller, more rural the airport the more generous they are with the loaner.

I’m still waiting for the jetpack. Or fanpack, I’m not picky.

A flying car you can take home sounds pretty good when you're 5 years down the waiting list for a hangar.
